"Dae." He did some motions with his hands what looked like him pooling something out from between the branches. Now there was a small parcel in the man's hands. "You hungry?" He unwrapped the paper and pulled several slices of something light and something dark out of it. In reality it was wheat bread and meat. He took a bite, chewed and then said.
"The rest are partying at the Meadows. Why not you?"

"Then I shall ask no more of your troubles." Dae eased into a sitting position as there seemed to be no current danger. "What is your name?"

"Shush... Not so loud." He winced at the sound. "If you haven't noticed yet, the Dark Forest is not of the safest places. And I bet a girl like you wouldn't want to attract any unneeded attention." He listened for new sounds for a while, but there was only the murmur of leaves and lonely notes of nocturnal birds, so he continued.
"I'm the Black Keeper, by the way. So your troubles are of my concern. And please do not tell my sister, of all people. I'm not yet to return to the island."

"What could the reason be?" Riin asked Iskilsa. She was not worried about herself, she was not mortal so to speak. And she was sure she was free to move around the island as she usually was. But loosing one... She looked at Teddy who was seemingly getting more nervous by the moment... Or even two of innocent passer-by to some nasty magic was not in her plans.
"Lets just try to walk you out of the circle first and see what will happen to you."

"Oh, it actually could be of mine." The man had great doubts whether he shouldn't or should disclose his personality to anyone, and finally decided for the latter. "I can explain why, but in that case - can you keep a secret?" He asked the girl.

"We need to find a way to get you out of the circle." Riin watched Charlie leaving the site. "Hopefully it was enough of a prank and you will be able to exit the barrier."

"Might be just my guess, but you are lying. Alone on an island, not knowing how you got here. And what is most important, how to get out."
He knew what he was talking about. The Labyrinth was a home to him, but not to these lost souls. 'Lost souls,' he retorted his own thoughts. 'You're the one to think so, right.'

"Something troubling you?" The man asked with apparent concern. Or at least he pretended to be.

"Legends tell that fairies... or elves as told in some other parts of the realm gather to dance on moonlit nights. Whenever they do, a circle of mushrooms or odd plants marks the spot they had their delights. No mortals are to enter the circle unless they want the little magical people to play bad pranks on them. Some are told to have lost their eyes upon entering, some to be shielded from sight by the magic and lost to the outside world forever... Running in circles, not being able to leave. The magical folk are beautiful creatures indeed, but mischievous and even ill-tempered mostly..."

"I'm not expecting you to trust me, a stranger in the night, apparently doing his best to hide his presence." The man grinned showing his white teeth.

"It's not all the flowers I'm concerned about." Riin turned to Charlie to reply. "It's only these glowing dark green ones."
Then she continued her explanation to Iskilsa. "I just came to the Meadows earlier this afternoon, excited by the thought of throwing you all a party, as hungry and tired you all might be from traveling to this island and all. The magic responded to my thoughts and set up this tent. In a pretty random place, so I thought. But it was day, so I could not see these flowers here glowing..." She motioned at the dark green ones now visibly forming a circle around the tent. "I'm sorry to announce, but we seem to have carelessly entered a fairy circle. And it's most likely the reason Iskilsa is having sight problems right now..."

The man did not move to follow the girl. He was still concerned about the voices he heard. And his current location was perfect to make an escape.
"So, I'm sorry to bother you in the first place... " He whispered loudly enough for the girl to hear but not as loud to make their presence known to anyone else.
"You've just picked the same spot I usually do to take my naps."

"Well, remember I said I've set up this tent for you, when I invited everyone to join the party?" Riin decided to start the explanation from afar.

The man moved a bit away too practically mirroring her motions. He was still visible to the girl, though. He did his best to stay at a visible distance to show that he had not produced any hidden arms or made aggressive gestures towards her.

Riin started pacing from where her armchair stood to the outer border of the tent, pondering and saying her thoughts out loud. "Well, I've seen or heard of people going blind here because their eyes were gouged out, cut out for ceremonial reasons... Also people blinded by poisons, diseases, old age... But just like that by not so bright light to go with in the first place..."
When she once again reached the outside of the tent, she plucked one of the luminescent plants and fumbled it with her fingers. The flower was of dark green, glowing juice now oozing out of its damaged stem. Riin made a gesture to create a handkerchief to wash the juice of her fingers and stopped in mid-movement. She threw a glance at her feet and saw what she was afraid to see there: A luminescent line made by dark green plants ran to both sides of her, curving in the direction of the tent they were in.
"Oops..." Her eyes widened as the girl finally understood what was bugging her the whole time. She screwed up. Majorly.

"I don't think we're stuck here completely... Even without the Witch being here." She looked at Teddy. "The kid's cursed in never to leave this place as far as it seems to me... But not the rest. We the Keepers can go whenever we want to - my brother is away right now - but it's not like we want to go, really..." She shivered remembering the reasons of her coming to the island in the first place.

Riin was listening to the conversation not daring to interfere. She was still trying to grasp at least one of the thoughts she had about having heard stories of people loosing their eyesight on the island. Nothing relevant came to her mind so far.
"The Crimson Witch? She was a demiurge living on this island before, managing the Labyrinth, creating realms inside of it with her powers and the magic of this place. She met my brother during one of her travels to the outside world and taught him a thing or two of the arts she practiced, soon to be gone from here. Presumably forever." The girl looked at Teddy apologetically. "I do not know what were the reasons of her disappearing..."

"Yes, you may join us." Riin made a welcoming gesture. "Have you been living on this island for long? And your parents?" So the child probably was one of the several entities she felt in her vicinity. Her senses did not betray her.

Some updates to this section.
I'm not really advising you to create new locations as long as the exciting ones aren't played to some extent.
Currently we have things going on in the Meadow and in the Forest, the Beach played.
Empty on the map: Eastern side and the central part of the island, since the Labyrinth's physical appearance (the space it occupies) is only the Gates.
For the future we could have some swamps to the middle. And maybe a lagoon or a grove (someone up to Peter Pan-ish siren/mermaid stories?)... probably hidden somewhere at the spot where the Forest meets the water of the ocean around. And we could have an abandoned village or even a lost kingdom somewhere.
There should be Henry/Booth's cabin somewhere too.
I might draw the map Riin gave to Anne at some point so that everyone can keep track. No ideas about the actual outlines (form) of the island, though...
Write your thoughts here, the moderators will create the locations upon request. I just like posting pictures to set the mood, so leave the first post of new topics to us.

Hello Candice, welcome to the group. :)
