She made a gesture with her hand and a tray with a steaming pot of tea, cute porcelain cups, a sugar bowl and a some freshly baked scones appeared right out of thin air, levitated a bit, clinking, and slowly lowered down on the sand.
"Sure you don't want any?" She asked again squinting. "Oh, and a map for you..."
Riin made another gesture and an old looking map with drawings and vintage letters appeared in her hands. She handed the map to Anne.
"The entrance to the Labyrinth - that big ancient gate way over there, - the best parts of this beach and the forest on the other side of the island are already marked on this map. Not sure if it has other places... I haven't been doing much exploring myself lately. And the insides of the Labyrinth are sometimes a mystery even to us, the Keepers. It lives its own life constantly changing, so the map won't be much of a help there anyway."

It wasn't totally unusual for people to be washed up on the shore of this island, it was the way her brother Dae got here in the first place, but again... The two Keepers had a bit different story. The magic of the place responded to them and welcomed them. All because the Witch was their friend and master.
And there was an invisible barrier surrounding the place that allowed them to hide from their persecutors for quite a long time now. Was it breached? Or the Labyrinth responded to her thoughts about being bored and lonely?
'Need to check if there are any unattended portals or teleportation devices on the island I didn't notice before...' She made a mental note to herself.
"Oh, what a bad host I'm being. Is there anything I can offer you?"

"Don't take this place so serious. And I... I might seem suspicious, but mean you no harm."
She turned her gaze to the waves and the sky for a moment, trying to grasp a thought particularly reluctant to be said out loud.
"Oh... Right. How did you get on the island in the first place?"

I'm very pleased with the beginning of the game so far, so let's keep it clean.
Oh, and thanks for accepting the mods position, too. ^^
Yay Yay Yay *humming a happy song*

"Oh... Yesterday? And I haven't noticed you before?" She scratched the back of her head in a confused fashion.
"Could be 2 days, though. This place can play a lot of tricks on you... Time... and space... It wasn't that relevant to its former tenant. And the great beast the Labyrinth is, it's quite the joker."

"Well, I suppose we'll deal on our own." She bowed her head gratefully, but coldly too. "He will come, it's not like he has a choice... The Labyrinth will be calling for him one day."
Then she cheered up again, as positive as she usually was.
"So, and who you, dear travelers, might be, if I may ask?"

"Me? Oh, I've been here for ages..."
Then she remembered her good manners and curtsied.
"Welcome to the island of the Labyrinth, fair maiden. I'm Riin, the White Keeper."
She stopped for a moment thinking what to add next.
"There's a Black one too... My... erm... elder brother. But he's away traveling right now. He promised to return soon, though."

'And a... writer? A poet?' She grinned, as she was getting more excited by the moment.
'Like the good old fairy tales... A knight and a troubadour entered the wicked witch's den...' She laughed a short laugh to her thoughts.

It was very rare someone did find his way to this place across the stormy seas and oceans. And yes, her brother still was a refugee... And would not appreciate dangerous people around. Yet, there was no danger to the Keepers. The magic of the Labyrinth was strong, but belonged to them and protected them from any harm that may come.

"Oh, two of them... " And she rejoiced even more.

Then the noticed the stranger walking the beach and beamed with joy.
"Oh, glorious day... A visitor!"
