I am feeling your pain Angela - went back yesterday after a week off! Hope it all goes ok and the weekend isn't too far away now :)

@Hilary - I was planning on treating myself to a copy of Divine Comedy as well - not sure which one to go for yet but it's bound to not be cheap cos I want a really good introduction and lots of notes to help me along!

Your description of Anne's delightful relatives made me chuckle Angela - they were pretty rotten!

Cool - although I really should have remembered what it is was ;)

And that's another two added....

Well that's what they were getting the bodies for wasn't it - oh the irony!

Lol and they nearly came to blows over it! I hope Mr P gets his revenge on the evil Mr Jingle and his servant for outsmarting him and Sam - what a villain ha ha!
Looking forward to meeting Mr Weller Snr ;)

Well it rings a bell - maybe some sort of earthwork???

Ha ha sorry I must have my evil head on! I just liked the way it all tied together and the ending was fitting even if not funny (except to me) - they were discussing good stories and the ending to some of those wasn't always nice but that didn't mean they weren't a good ending in a literary sense.
Re: your spoiler - yeah that definitely wasn't cool!

Ha ha, this is how I imagine my grandparents must have felt when they had sent me and my brothers back home again!

Yeah it was a bit slow to start especially as Anne isn't introduced straightaway

We can put the Meditations back a bit if you want - I haven't even got a copy yet anyways ;)
Am excited for Dante!

That bit made me chuckle - he writes it very well - my version is accompanied by a lot more swearing!

Where is he riding through - is it Gloucestershire???

I liked the ending! Very funny, loved the linking story about the lizard and some of the in between stories were real gems.

Kinder than Solitude sounds great - have added that and the Laxness book to my tbr list!
Am looking forward to reading Life after Life as well - I picked it up on the kindle when it was only £1.99 or something like that cos I really liked her Jackson Brodie books.
I'm almost finished with Gardens of the Moon and then I'm not really sure what to read next...

I enjoyed the Woman in White better but The Moonstone is still brilliant and paved the way for our modern detective novels so defo deserves to be on the list!
