107978 Hey y'all,
Sorry I haven't been too active -- my day job keeps from having regular internet access.

BUT, I just saw that member Marta Tandori has started our bookshelf. (I didn't even realize we had that ability!) Soooo, if you are an author and want to post your work in our bookshelf, feel free to do so. If you are a reader and you have a favorite book or 50, feel free to post those, too. It will be fun to see what turns up!

Happy Reading!

107978 Thanks for sharing your article, Joe.

107978 You are welcome. I'd love to hear what promotions work for you.

I find marketing to be the hardest part of being published.

By the way, I popped over to you profile and noticed that you are in Denver. I set my Blinding Justice in Denver. I'd be curious to hear from a local whether I portrayed it well. If you want, I can give you an e copy via email in your preferred format. Or it is on sale on my website for .89 cents, or .99 cents on Amazon. Let me know if you'd like a free copy.
Best, Kristi

107978 Welcome to the group, Karen! always nice to see a fresh name, and congrats on your new release.

Your story sounds intriguing. I will have to check it out.

107978 I've been bogged down with proofing Romances. If you like romances, SJ McCoy's Summer Lake series is sweet. Not much in suspense. I did read (group member) Danielle's The Protector, which I liked.

107978 How exciting, H.d!

107978 Wow, just reading the blurb is a trip. I wonder if I could read a whole book about someone with a name spelled just like mine. I guess there's only one way to find out.

I will put you in my TBR for sure. It sure sounds like a page-turner.

Welcome to the group!

107978 Welcome, Maggie!
Saw your post about your promotions.
Glad to see you here.

107978 Thanks Maggie!
I'll check them out.
Welcome to the group!
107978 Oh, I'm of that certain age, and I like Sam. He just wasn't who I had in mind at all. I think Sam is too wiry to be Blue. But they have the same courtesy and slow talking mannerisms, I guess. So it's not too far off. Come to think of it, Sam in the Quick and the Dead could be a pretty close match.
107978 Yay! Glad to hear it! I am currently working on a second book called "Last Second Chance", and I have at least two more beyond that. All I have to do is find the time to write. :-P

I'm still chewing on the Sam Elliot idea, though.... ;-)

107978 Danielle wrote: "What is the ratio of suspense to romance in romantic suspense? I've looked online and the numbers are all over the board...."

I don't know any numbers, but with my Blinding Justice, which I initially billed as Romantic Suspense, I was told that it wasn't enough Romance, and the reviewer cited that the Romance wasn't what drove the plot. So I started billing it as a Suspense novel with a dash of Romance.

But I don't know if that gives you something of an answer to your question.

And great to hear. I hope you enjoy my book. :-)
107978 Sounds intriguing. I will pick up a copy. I can't say I will get to it right away, but when I do, I will leave a review. And if I like it, I will surely buy Too Little, Too Late.

Best of everything with your promotion!

107978 I got yours, too, H. Just the one. I figure if I like it, I'll buy book 2. :-)

(I discovered I have a smashwords account. Now I'm off to format my books so I can upload them there, too. :-) )

107978 Great, thanks!

107978 Went out and bought it. Not sure when I will get to it, but I will leave a review once I have. :-)

(Side note, I am officially a fan of DropBox. I downloaded your book, moved it into my DropBox, then with a few clicks exported it into my Kindle app. So much better than hooking my tablet up to the laptop via cable, then trying to figure out where the file is and where to put it!)

107978 Cute.

107978 Such an interesting blurb. I especially like the 'potty mouth', since that is such a polar opposite of something a 'potty mouthed' person would say. I half expect to read it and hear her exclaim 'oh, sugar!' - which I would find hi-larious.

107978 I'm going to check this out. Is Amazon price matching? (I don't have a Smashwords account.)
