Regan only half heard. “Probably.” She answered without actually hearing the question.
[[BTW, I do this all the time!]]

“Sure...” Regan said, her eyes clearly saying the opposite. She turned around and started stacking the rocks, totally concentrated. She was completely oblivious to the two behind her.

Regan raised an eyebrow at him. “Yeah right you big softie. You
do care, don’t you?” She laughed.

Regan turned around and stared at Daegon. “I don’t think I have ever heard you say that and I don’t think I ever will again.” She said stunned.

“Like you would care?” Regan said sulkily. “Yes I did and I almost died.” She was angry and accidentally cracked one of the rocks.

Regan shrugged and moved away. She found some cool looking rocks and started to mess with them, making them look like something else.

Regan rolled her eyes. “Just don’t ask. I don’t think you’re gonna get a understandable answer.”

Regan whipped around. “Regan?” She said suspiciously. She slipped the small black rock into a pocket and slowly raised her hand, ready for anything. “What are you doing here?”

Regan managed to hold back her boulders, but her heart was racing. “Don’t do that!” She scolded Thing. She turned back to Reaper. “You don’t need to understand.” She said quietly. “Just know, that I am more powerful than ever. I have extra energy to offer.”

Regan slowed down and cupped the little stone in her hands. “I think it is where my power comes from.” She said carefully. “But I could not control it. It was like it controlled me.” Her eyes brightened. “But I conquered it and now I am it’s master.” She looked at the small stone in wonder. “I can control any earth now. I guess I am the one in charge now.”

Regan looked back sheepishly. She curled her hand into a fist and the gap closed. She turned back to Reaper, jumping up and down with excitement. “I got it! I did it! I am victorious!” She was practically dancing with joy.

The ground increased its rumbling and a crater opened like a geyser, spraying rocks everywhere. Regan’s eyes snapped open. She quickly untied the vine and move to the edge of the drop off. Small were raining down. She waited for a second, then her arm shot out, catching something. She took a step back and turned to Reaper, her eyes glowing with excitement. “I did it!” She yelled, holding up a small black rock. It was smooth and shiny, but not much bigger than a grape.

Regan felt Reaper pull her over to a tree, but she notice feel it. She was totally concentrated on getting that rock. She pulled as hard as she could. Finally, she felt it breaking away. It was separated! Regan started pulling it up to the surface. The ground beneath them rumbled.

Regan’s mind was straining, trying to get the rock. For some reason , it would not let go. She put her fingers on her temples, trying to avoid the headache that was coming. She knew she could just let go. She probably should just give up. But, Regan was stubborn. She would not stop. There was going to be one power in charge. It had to be either her or the mysterious rock. She was going to show that lump of earth who was in charge! Regan fell to her knees and groaned with the pressure. She almost had it. She could feel it giving in.
Just a little more!

Regan reached out again, this time going deeper. She felt a small tug and followed the trail. Finally, she made it to the source that called to her. She stretched her mind around the rock, but it was too large to fully understand. She couldn’t control it either. It was her equal. She felt the power flowing from it.
This must be the source of my power. She thought in wonder. Regan{s face scrunched up. The rock was hard too. She was going to try and break off a piece to bring up to the surface, but it did not want to obey.

Regan closed her eyes and felt beneath the earth. She was trying to find a specific rock, but she didn’t know what she was looking for yet. Her conscious moved through the earth beneath them. She felt around a very soft rock and found some harder smooth ones. No. Not what she was looking for.

Regan stretched and started messing with some rocks. She was bored and wanted to have a little fun.

Regan rolled her eyes. “Next time I won’t try to miss.” She muttered under her breath.

Regan turned on Reaper. “I told you I don’t like surprises!” She yelled. “Next time I might not miss!” She glared at him.

“Ah!” Regan yelled startled. Her hand automatically shot downwards, aiming for Reaper, but she managed to narrowly miss him. The tree beside him groaned and was fell over, its roots above ground. “Sorry, sorry.” Regan whispered to the tree and carefully planted it again.
