106503 What exactly is a 'Read-a-thon'? A Read-a-thon is basically an encouragement, a pushing force which makes you read more during a particular period than you would have. It's an activity where you set a goal for yourself, and try to complete that goal as quickly as possible.

So, in a read-a-thon, a time limit and a page limit is set. Within that time limit, we try to complete the page/book limit as quickly as possible. The entire point of a read-a-thon is to set high goals for yourself and push yourself to read as much as possible.

For eg, suppose a goal is : 1000 pages, 1 week. Thus, one has to try completing 1000 pages within one week.

---------------------------------------------

WHAT I HAVE IN MIND FOR THE GROUP

Time limit, I set. Page limit, you decide. Every once in a while, I will set up a time limit and post the dates for a particular read-a-thon in this thread itself. All you have to do is decide on a book limit/page limit for yourself and try your best to complete your goals!

Post all queries and suggestions below.

Happy Reading!

106503 Team Read : Series is basically introduced to read and enjoy series - along with others. Just like we have Buddy Reads, where two people decide on a particular book to be read together, similarly this feature will enable a team or group of people to decide upon a series and read it together.

So, how does it work?

-> Members can discuss which series they want to read here
-> If a single series is backed by 4 or more people, then a separate thread for that series will be created and the members who wanted to read that series can start reading and discussing the series.
-> There is no time limit to when the series has to be completed, it depends on the interest and pace of the reader.

Remember! This isn't a challenge with a specific date or time limit. This is just a forum for a group of people wanting to read the same series to come together and read it.

Happy reading!

106503 This is where we can decide which series to read. Let's not fight over this and let's stick to one golden rule : if a single series is backed by 4 or more people, a thread can be created for that series and further discussions about that series can continue there.

There is no time limit to finishing the series, it depends completely on those who are reading it.
