[close] Each month a theme will be set with a suggested book for each age group (adult, young adult, 8-12 years, young children). You do not have to stick to your age group, it's just to provide a little something for everyone. Some months adult themes may be included, there will be a warning given prior if this is the case. If you add a book to the tbr please let a moderator know the key themes, genres and age range that it falls under.

The Distance is a book club designed to create friendships through reading - regardless of whether you are in Australia or in England or the U.S. How it works: On the first Saturday of every month you get a new book and you have a month to read that book. In the forums you are able to talk about it whenever you finish the book. Join in as many books as you can. It is understandable that life gets busy. Read what you want and commit to what you want. If you write a blog and write a review of the book that's great - link it!

This group's moderator has been living that life since 1992, surrounded by books that help sustain a life steeped in nature. Not all of my recommendations are about solitude or nature per se, but all have added to my understanding of my own solitary existence in nature. Hopefully they will add to the life experience of other readers as well.
