[close] The purpose of this book club is to encourage the reading of books/works of literature that focus on topics related to the the natural world and environmental issues, ranging from agriculture and conservation to environmental justice and activism. It would be great to pay close attention to the development of the modern environmental movement in the U.S., starting from its humble beginnings (i.e. American Transcendentalism) and moving all the way up to the present day. We hope to read and then discuss an equal amount of the classics and more modern titles. A goal of mine is to have this club help build and support a community of knowledgeable and responsible citizens.
