Daughter of Archimedes Q. Porter, she is a girl of 19 in 1909, when she appears on the scene in Tarzan of the Apes. Originally from Baltimore, she accompanies her father, who who suffers from dementia, to find a treasure. A crewman named King leads a mutiny but spares the life of the Porter entourage, only to be killed himself by a ratlike man named Snipes.
Tarzan immediately sees her and falls for her. When she is kidnapped by Terkoz, Tarzan's stepbrother, Tarzan rescues her, killing Terkoz. While she had seen him as a friend and protector, she initially reacts negatively when he touches and kisses her, but when he backs off and provides her with food, she begins to warm to him, and eventually marries him. …more
