Victor Chase Stein is the son of Victor and Janet Stein, supervillain scientists. He has none of their scientific abilities and often feels looked down upon by the other Runaways as less intelligent, although he is adept at using technology even though he can't develop new technology. He fell in love with Gertrude Yorkes, who was killed in action. Eventually, he used her parents' time machine to rescue her just before she was killed, but the passage of several years leaving her a teenager while Chase is a young man causes them to drift apart somewhat despite her name being tattooed on his abdomen in a heart.…more
