Mature readers only. I would recommend sixteen and up unless you're REALLY mature and ready to handle heavy, heavy topics,
It's about prisoners condemned to death for horrible crimes, including rape of young children. The rape doesn't happen on-screen, but it's still there, and not is not the only mature thing to be handled in this book, but it may be the most mature.
I read it when I was seventeen and was fine, but it's different for everyone.(less)

I find the easiest way to read this (or indeed any book!) is to start at page 1 and keep going til you get to the back cover!
You may find that this could be difficult to do in one go so there are different ways to pause your reading to resume at a later time. One method is to turn down the corner of the page you have reached, another is to use a "bookmark" placed between the pages and left sticking out the top to ensure you can find your page quickly.
There is a certain "tongue in cheek" element my response here but your question kinda sets this up! :)(less)
