Mature readers only. I would recommend sixteen and up unless you're REALLY mature and ready to handle heavy, heavy topics,
It's about prisoners condemned to death for horrible crimes, including rape of young children. The rape doesn't happen on-screen, but it's still there, and not is not the only mature thing to be handled in this book, but it may be the most mature.
I read it when I was seventeen and was fine, but it's different for everyone.

Tria The Triangle
Definitely agree with Emily; mature readers! I just want to add that it's not just the subject matter that could rattle a younger reader (heck, even adults could get the jitters). Stephen King handles descriptions spectacularly, from raw emotions to graphic depictions of... well, everything. Add that to the topics included in the book and you've got a wild ride you may find yourself seriously unprepared for.
