12 Books with Plot Twists Even the Queen of Crime Wouldn't Have Seen Coming

Agatha Christie was born 126 years ago today! The Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple creator is the best-selling novelist of all time, outsold only by the Bible and Shakespeare, and has kept generations of readers guessing with genre-defining capers like And Then There Were None, Murder on the Orient Express, and Murder at the Vicarage. To celebrate the inimitable Queen of Crime and her love of surprise endings (the reveal in The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is still one of our all-time favorites), we asked you on Facebook and Twitter: What book has the best plot twists? Your top answers—full of enough madness, mayhem, monsters, and murder to make Christie proud—are below. How many of them have you read? Did you guess any of the twists before they happened?

How about "Presumed Innocent" by Scott Turow? One of the most jaw-dropping plot-twisting endings I've ever read. Wonderful novel!

SJ Watson's Before I Go to Sleep. How did that one not make the list?!

Aiyana wrote: "Murder on the Orient Express and And Then There Were None were both shockers to me. Love Agatha Christie!I also loved Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. I honestly didn't see that twist coming either."
Rebecca is one of my favorites, too. I totally did not see that coming!
MRNJ wrote: "Ender's Game. One of the best books of all time in my opinion."Only if you WANT to support Orson Scott Card's homophobia!
Keiry wrote: "Jane Eyre is on this list? Interesting..."In the time it was written - it was a real plot twist.
The Light Bringer series by Brent Weeks. Lots of them in The Blinding Knife which is book two, but the plot twist a third of the way through the first book makes the series. Also The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. The second book currently has the most, but wow!

The movie came out so of course they made a book from it. I read the book before seeing the movie.
The book is featured by Universal Studios. The cover shows Kate Hudson holding a key while there seems to be fire all around her. The ISBN # for the book is: 1417018543
I hope this helps, cause it's a great book.

Weird, I can't find mention of the book anywhere. I even tried googling the ISBN...
I can't find it either, Nitzan. Usually I can find all books on goodreads.
The Skeleton Key. Is this the one?

The Skeleton Key. Is this the one?"the movie was written by Ehren Kruger. I don't see anywhere where it says it was based off a book. also the plot seems very different.
Susan wrote: "No one mentioned Code Name Verity?"Oh god, that one completely shocked me. And I was reading it on a bus with a bunch of my classmates going to Milan (I was on exchange) and I was sobbing at the ending.
The Red Queen had a twist that I didn't see coming. But then afterward I felt stupid and that I should have seen it coming.
