Audiobook Lovers Listen Up! Audio Samples Now on Goodreads
Do you love listening to audiobooks? Now it’s even easier to choose your next audiobook thanks to the new Goodreads "Listen" feature, which will be rolled out in the coming days. We've added free audio samples for 180,000 Audible titles to the Goodreads website, where they're available to all of our members.
The new Listen feature is easy to use. Simply look for the Listen icon on the Goodreads book page.
Click on the Listen icon and the audio sample will start to play. You can listen, pause, and resume the sample. There is no need for any special software – the sample will play within your browser.
If you like what you hear, you can add the title to your “Want to Read” shelf. For Goodreads members in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, or Australia who are not yet Audible members, you can take advantage of their free trial! Once you click on the Listen icon, you will see a link to the trial. Sign up and you’ll receive two free audiobooks plus a 30-day free trial of Audible.
The new Listen feature is only available on the Goodreads.com website on your computer or laptop. It is not yet accessible via mobile web or our apps. But as always, we’re working on getting to that as soon as we can!

I've been in the tester group for a while so I thought this had been rolled out already! Awesome feature.
OMG!!! This is sooo cool! Especially since I'm just trying out audiobooks for the first time! :) YAY!

Is this feature only available on the "audiobook" or "audible" format page? I tried it out and didn't see the listen button (tried checking the "The Girl on the Train" page and still nothing). It would be great to have the option to listen no matter what, so I hope that is the way goodreads set it up.
I really like the opportunity, but I think we have Amazon to thank you for that, and I hope that this doesn't mean that there will be only moves to the Audible-Platform and not to the publishers of the audio(book)!

Thanks for letting us know. We're rolling this feature out to all our members over the course of the week. You can expect to see it by Friday (April 24th).

Funny enough I've seen this feature some months ago on some books already. I guess that was the test phase or something?
My audio book just went live on audible.com. Will it have this feature?
Nice feature. It is not clear how to enable this for all audiobooks. Some do not have the feature enabled
Does anyone know how long these 'samples' run? Is it just a teaser, first chapter, or something more significant? Thanks in advance!
How Awesome! I never know if I'll like a narrator I've never heard before & I'm picky! LOL
Thank you finally! Could you also include an option to add what audiobook(s) that you are listening to to to add mutiple versions of a book. (Audiobook , digital version or physical copy of the book to your want to read/want to listen to list) I have been using audible.com a lot recently, so it would be nice to add what I am currently listening to!
When will you add a "Listening to" option for audio books?
This is wonderful! Will Goodreads eventually add audio samples for all titles that have corresponding audiobooks? How can a smaller audiobook publisher ensure that their audio samples will be available through Goodreads? I'd love to see samples of our audiobooks here, too! Post Hypnotic Press Inc.
