Stephanie ((FIRST COMMENT!!! XDD))

I love the updated one. Much cooler.

message 2: by Hulya (new)

Hulya Kara Yuksel I really liked it. It's much better but still I can't see my or friends 2015 Reading Challenge books. I'll be happy if you add it. Anyway thanks a lot and wish you a wonderful day!

message 3: by Lidia (new)

Lidia I really like it! Huge improvement! It opened! I used it for a while and then it wouldn't open! Right now it's better! I love the design! :)

message 4: by Renée (new)

Renée I still miss the "Discussions" Tab. But other than that huge improvement!

message 5: by Rin ♔ (new)

Rin ♔ I love the new look but there's a glitch. When I opened the menu it says that I have 1816 books shelved when I only have 600+.

message 6: by Francielli (new)

Francielli Camargo I like the new looks but I still wish I could see more of people's profiles and maybe the Reading Challenge too.

Mark Sebert Hulya wrote: "I really liked it. It's much better but still I can't see my or friends 2015 Reading Challenge books. I'll be happy if you add it. Anyway thanks a lot and wish you a wonderful day!"

Yes they need to add this, this is one of the only reasons I use Goodreads. As a tool to motivate me to read and help me keep track.

message 8: by NzingaMarie (new)

NzingaMarie Love the new look! Great improvement! The only thing that would make it better would be being able to see the Reading Challenge.

message 9: by Taryn (new)

Taryn It looks much nicer than the old design! I would like it if I could see all Discussions like I can on the actual site but other than that, it's great!

message 10: by GoldGato (new)

GoldGato No, still not there.

message 11: by Wonderperson89 (new)

Wonderperson89 You've made it worse by forcing Suggestions and Recommendations on us. Bad show Goodreads for sacrificing your Identity to Amazon.

message 12: by Wonderperson89 (new)

Wonderperson89 I actually configure my homepage to avoid the FORCED Recommendations, Suggestions that are forced on me at every turn. Respect your users Goodreads.

message 13: by Sam (new)

Sam Mh. The app says on the sidebar I've 5644 books shelved when it's only 1216...

message 14: by Annie (new)

Annie Hulya wrote: "I really liked it. It's much better but still I can't see my or friends 2015 Reading Challenge books. I'll be happy if you add it. Anyway thanks a lot and wish you a wonderful day!"

It's coming through loud and clear - we want easy access to our Reading Challenges! Please include this feature in future updates.

message 15: by Julia (new)

Julia The new update looks better and useful but still has flaws. We need The Reading Challenge and a Reading Progress feature.

message 16: by Hulya (new)

Hulya Kara Yuksel Julia, I just discovered it when you mention it. You have to follow this steps for reading progress. Choose your "currently reading" book, scroll down and find "edit review" section and tap it. You'll find "Reading Progress - Update Status". There you go! My God I'm just get old. :D This is so annoying...

message 17: by Inge (new)

Inge With the Android App, it's kind of a Russian Roulette as to whether it will open certain status updates or not. Reviews and such work fine, but 8/10 of the times when I want to open a status update, it says something went wrong. Has this been fixed as well? I've had it for years.

Thanks for letting us know about the issue - we have a developer investigating!

message 20: by احمد (new)

احمد فارس Awesome :D

message 21: by Ekta (new)

Ekta This is beautiful!

message 22: by Aadivah (new)

Aadivah It's cool but it would be nice to see the publication dates of the books.

message 23: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Definitely an improvement! Much more clean and modern looking. I would still love to see the reading challenge on there. Along with others, this is one of the main reasons I use Goodreads :)

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* The look is really pleasing and I like some of it - but finally the last update we were able to update challenges, can we still with this one? Not seeing how. It's like it was removed with this update.

message 25: by Kristýna (new)

Kristýna Thank you, finally useful app, similar to website :)
I´ve got also much more books in menu, but it will be fixed for sure ;).

message 26: by Karolajn (new)

Karolajn Please, make a Windows Phone 8 App.

message 27: by Ari (new)

Ari how about a website redesign?

message 28: by Eti (new)

Eti Mishra Please, make an app for Windows Phone 8.1 as well.

message 29: by Freda ❤ (new)

Freda ❤ We need a windows phone app as well.

message 30: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Please add the Goodreads Reading Challenge - I haven't been able to download this app; does it offer anything for authors? I'd like to be able to see my author dashboard from my phone as well.

message 31: by Nikki (new)

Nikki Love the update! The design is nice and sleek. Very direct and easy to use.

One improvement for the app that I would love to see would be an option to view the list of books in a series, from each book's info page. This way, when you're out shopping and want to pick up that next book in a series but can't recall the name - and they so rarely include that info on the book itself - it would be handy to pull that up quickly.

message 32: by Sarah, Design & Donuts (new)

Sarah Julia wrote: "The new update looks better and useful but still has flaws. We need The Reading Challenge and a Reading Progress feature."

Hi Julia, at the top of the "My Books" section there should be an "Update your reading progress" that'll allow you to select and update from your currently reading shelf.

message 33: by Rinn (new)

Rinn Redownloaded the app again, because the last version was just horrible. Now it's so much better, thank you for the update! :D Can finally carry GR around with me again.

message 34: by Ilinalta (new)

Ilinalta Now if only, they could update the Kindle Paperwhite apps that would be awesome. (I really doubt it'll happen though.)

message 35: by محمد (new)

محمد الفره Good Job
thanx

message 36: by Kate-Lynn (last edited Mar 31, 2015 10:01AM) (new)

Kate-Lynn I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS UPDATE. I HATED USING THE ANDROID APP I felt super limited in what I could do.

Thanks Goodreads :D

message 37: by Dawn (new)

Dawn Very nice - I like the recommendations not sure if that was there or not before.

There is still a bug with the book count at the top but I think that has been mentioned.

message 38: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay FINALLYYYYYYYY

Thank you! This is so classyyyyyy.

message 39: by Julia (new)

Julia Hulya wrote: "Julia, I just discovered it when you mention it. You have to follow this steps for reading progress. Choose your "currently reading" book, scroll down and find "edit review" section and tap it. You..."

I wasnt talking about that one. I was talking about to have one that looks like the one we have on the normal website. The Reading Progress bar.

message 41: by Barbara (new)

Barbara It is better, but I would still like to see the Reading Challenge included. It would then be perfect!

message 42: by Keri (new)

Keri my total book count is also way off but i would really like to see the Reading Challenge included

message 43: by Faruk (last edited Mar 31, 2015 11:07AM) (new)

Faruk Ahmet This was a much needed update, thanks! Looks like a great start, but a couple of points if you don't mind:

+ Can you please make the main three tabs (Updates, My Books, Scan of the main view) swipeable? It's very unintuitive to have to click the tabs in Android.
+ Instead, maybe it should scroll to the top of the list when we click on the tabs (right now it works in "My Books" but not in "Updates").
+ I don't know why "Scan" should be so prominent when it could just be a button somewhere. Maybe your analytics show that people use it really often? I don't know. I'd love to see my reading progress list and the option to update it in a more discoverable place instead of it.
+ Rounded, shaded yellow buttons (taken directly from this website) visually clashes with the flat aesthetic of the rest of the app. It'd be great if they were updated too.
+ It's very unoptimized for tablets. Look at the drawer: http://i.imgur.com/3eRYA0e.png
+ Colored status bar for Lollipop please!

Thanks for the hard work.

message 44: by Ashe. (new)

Ashe. It updated while I was sleeping. Thank you!

message 45: by Roberta (new)

Roberta Jayne YES THANK YOU GOODREADS. WOW it's definitely a lot cleaner and more sophisticated than it used to be. (Despite still not being able to view Reading Challenges, but hey). You're still fantastic, Goodreads!

message 46: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Great App! I've seen it today and I immediately appreciate the style and new graphic design. I haven't had so much time to see every feature, but I think it's undoubtedly a great work.

message 47: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Just wanted to add my plea to please add the Reading Challenge! My I-Phone friends have it--why can't I get it as an Android user?

message 48: by Jezire (new)

Jezire C Akin I cant seem to figure out how to update my books by entering what page I am on etc. Can someone help with this?

message 49: by Aakash (new)

Aakash wow! was waiting for its updates :D

Sarah Jezire wrote: "I cant seem to figure out how to update my books by entering what page I am on etc. Can someone help with this?"

Go to My Books and tap on the "Update your reading progress" button. You'll be able to select which book you'd like to update, and you'll be taken to a page to update what page you're on.
