Terror Knows No Boundaries with These Translated Horror Novels

Posted by Cybil on September 29, 2022

Scary things happen all over the world—in different regions, different countries, and occasionally different dimensions.

So why limit yourself to horror novels originally written in English? We’ve gathered here 24 specimens of translated horror for the discerning cosmopolitan reader. The collection includes novels and short story collections, with an eye toward celebrating the wide world of terror. Tragedy in Korea. Spooky old houses in Iceland. Ambulating corpses in Iraq. Also: cursed bunnies and decapitated chickens.

Scroll down and over the book cover images for synopses, details, and links. (There are some pretty great covers!) Add any interesting leads to your Want to Read shelf.

Rebecca Let the Right One In = perfection 👌🏻

Magdalena Hanell Every single book written by John Ajvide Lindqvist! Also Mats Strandberg is amazing. I’d stay away from Echo, recommended above. Terribly disappointing compared to Hex by the same author.
