New LGBTQ+ Romances to Read for Pride (and All Year Long)

If you're looking to fall head over heels for some LGBTQ+ romances, you'll find yourself quite lucky in love with recent books. In the first half of 2022 alone, we've got fake engagements for reality TV, simmering attraction between chefs, and not one but two historical happily-ever-afters from author Alexis Hall!
To help stock your Want to Read shelf ahead of June's Pride month, we've gathered up a spectrum of romances published since the beginning of 2021. You'll find blockbuster hits on this list as well as some very highly rated hidden gems. And since celebrations of love shouldn't be limited to only one month a year, we've also included a sneak peek at all the goodness still to come in 2022. Queer retelling of Much Ado About Nothing? A reimagining of Achilles, Patroclus, and Helen of Troy as a throuple? A grumpy-sunshine soccer romance? Yes, yes, yes!
Scroll over the covers below to learn more about each book, and be sure to add the ones that catch your eye to your Want to Read shelf.

I run a weekly film and book club for my mental health support group... will definitely be sharing this for our Pride LGBTQ+ themed session in June
I literally could not fall over myself fast enough to recommend The Long Game (and Heated Rivalry, the predecessor to this story). There are some great reads on this list, but TLG is a story you finish and immediately wish you could read again for the first time. Don’t let the cover dissuade you, read it!!
"Light" by 'Nathan Burgoine. Not super recent, but it's well written, set during Pride, little known, and has a happy ending. :)"Right Where I Left You" by Julian Winters is a sweet YA romance that came out this year.
"Gay Club!" by Simon James Green is another 2022 release. It looks like a lot of fun and I saw it highly recommended by another LGBTQ+ author in an interview. Can't wait to read it!
I so recommend anything by Nicky James and Leighton Greene and if you like fantasy, read anything by Lily Mayne. All are excellent writers with books I constantly read over and over again!
