Upon hearing the sound of "there was only one bed" trope, ten years were added to my life. In this charming companion novel to Written in the Stars, we head back to Seattle with Annie, Darcy's long time best friend intent on surprising her for the weekend. Upon learning that Darcy is out of town with Elle, Annie spends the weekend with Darcy's brother Brendon, successful app creator and believer in true love, Annie is the exact opposite, sick of the modern dating scene and tired of tryi ...more
i’ve never read anything by alexandria bellefleur, so when i cracked open the book and saw astrology references, i knew i was gonna enjoy it. i’m not “huge” about astrology, but when i see it, this girl takes it lol.
the story centers around brendon (darcy’s younger brother) and annie (darcy’s best friend). annie has basically given up on her love life and brendon is set on finding his true love...i know, we love that combination. the majority of the book focuses on brend ...more
The answer—thank goodness—is yes! This was a joy to read, to return to the ensemble cast I've come to love, to get inside the mind of people-pleaser, fix-your-problems Brendon, and to meet Darcy's elusive best friend, Annie. HANG THE MOON explored different ...more
I was super intrigued by Brendon in Bellefleur's first book, and I'm so smitten with the fact he gets to win over his childhood crush in this story. I do so adore a good glow-up moment when our older love interest returns and is completely like holy heck how did you get those biceps and wow I want to now climb you like a tree, what do I do with these feelings?!

Written in the Stars was one of my top 2020 reads so I jumped at the chance to read Alexandria Bellefleur's second novel and it did not let me down
I would recommend if you're looking for (SPOILERS)

Alexandria Bellefleur is now on my auto-buy author list
While I may not have loved this book as much as "Written in the Stars", I still absolutely adored it. I flew through this and it was impossible to put down.
I loved seeing more of Darcy and Elle, but I also loved seeing Brendon's story unfold. We didn't know much about him from book 1, just the fact that he was Darcy's brother and Elle's friend, but his character still felt rather cookie-cut ...more

I was so excited for Hang the Moon after meeting Brendon in Written in the Stars. I loved Brendon and I thought it was cute that he had a crush on Annie as a kid. I loved how open and sweet he was. When Annie first saw Brendon after years I loved how she didn't recognize him at first because he grew up and into a man. I loved how he loved romantic comedies and believed st ...more
I loved this book especially because of the characters. Brendon could literally propose to me tomorrow and I'd say yes. I just adored him so much, all his six foot four inches plus he is hopeless romantic with dimples, while Annie is workaholic who wants to avoid all matters of the heart to avoid getti ...more
As soon as I finished the absolutely delightful contemporary f/f romance, WRITTEN IN THE STARS, I put in a request to read the follow up book- HANG THE MOON.
A hopeless yet adoringly optimistic romantic hero paired with a jaded, reluctant bisexual heroine who is not only his childhood crush but also his sisters best friend.
This book had everything I look for in a rom-com. It's sweet and swoony with some serious spice. There are endearingly ...more
A huge part of this review will be made shorter just by saying: if you want to read this you really really should read Written in the Stars before. You could get by without, but I feel like I’d be a lot more out of touch with these characters if I haven’t read Written in the Stars beforehand.
The book did an amazing job expanding on Annie and Brendon bo ...more
I was provided an ARC via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
Annie just arrived in Seattle to visit her best friend, Darcy. Thing is she wanted to surprise her but ended up being surprised herself when she learnt that Darcy was out of town for the weekend. Still, Darcy insists that Annie should stay at her place and that her brother, Brendon, can give her his spare key and show her the apartment. Annie hasn't seen Brendon in 8 years and damn has he changed.

I adore any book that takes place in Seattle because I get to feel like a tourist in my own backyard. Having frequented the many tourist spots in the city I loved getting to relive them as if it’s the first time alongside the characters and seeing the city through their eyes. There’s something magical ab ...more
Brendon is a hopeless romantic (he even created an app for love). Annie is convinced that romance is dead and goes to Seattle to tell her best friend that she's moving to London. She ends up running into her best friend's not-so-little brother. Soon after seeing each other for the first time in 8 years, sparks fly, and Brendon starts a rom-com inspired mission to show Annie that Seattle might be the place for her to call home.
I loved the rom-com references and th ...more
Darcy’s brother Brendan is a hopeless romantic, having created a dating app, One True Pairing. He also had a major crush on Annie when he was a teenager, but now that he’s all grown up (all 6’4” of him) he’s caught her eye. When Brendon finds ...more
Annie thinks romance is dead and Brendon wants to prove her wrong and he knows a lot about romance since he created a dating app. The dynamic between these two was so delightful.
There were so many movie references that were so dear to my heart.
A huge thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books for sending me an E-ARC for an honest review.
I loved Alexandria Bellefleur's first romance WRITTEN IN THE STARS, so I was really excited to read her new book. I went into this book with pretty high expectations and all of those expectations were met. This was such a beautiful, thoughtful, emotional, sexy, and fun romance! I loved both of our main characters Brendon and Annie, and I thought that their romance was such a beautiful read. After ...more

Hang the Moon is the sequel to Written In the Stars, where we first met Brendon as Darcy's brother. He takes center stage in this one along with Darcy's best friend, Annie. They haven't seen each other in about 8 years, but Brendon did have a crush on Annie when they were younger. When they see each other again, sparks are definitely flying, but Brendon is a hopeless romantic, waiting for the One whe ...more
