i’ve never read anything by alexandria bellefleur, so when i cracked open the book and saw astrology references, i knew i was gonna enjoy it. i’m not “huge” about astrology, but when i see it, this girl takes it lol.
the story centers around brendon (darcy’s younger brother) and annie (darcy’s best friend). annie has basically given up on her love life and brendon is set on finding his true love...i know, we love that combination. the majority of the book focuses on brend ...more

Hang the Moon is a truly charming sequel to Written In The Stars. It centers on Annie, Darcy's best friend who lives in Philadelphia but recently got a big promotion and will be moving to London. She decides to surprise Darcy with a visit -- only to find out that Darcy is out of town for the weekend with her girlfriend Elle. Annie ends up spending the weekend with Darcy's brother, Brendon, who is the creator of the dating app One True Pairing. He is a diehard romantic who believes in grand gestu

Brendon believes in your One True Love. Annie's sick of the revolving door that many who date in the digital age are far too familiar with. Do two people coming at love from truly opposite ends of the emotional spectrum have a chance at love?

Oh my god, what a follow-up to 2020's Written in the Stars.
I was super intrigued by Brendon in Bellefleur's first book, and I'm so smitten with the fact he gets to win over his childhood crush in this story. I do so adore a good glow-up moment when our older love interest returns and is completely like holy heck how did you get those biceps and wow I want to now climb you like a tree, what do I do with these feelings?!

Alexandria Bellefleur is now on my auto-buy author list

While I may not have loved this book as much as "Written in the Stars", I still absolutely adored it. I flew through this and it was impossible to put down.
I loved seeing more of Darcy and Elle, but I also loved seeing Brendon's story unfold. We didn't know much about him from book 1, just the fact that he was Darcy's brother and Elle's friend, but his character still felt rather cookie-cut ...more

I read and loved Written in the Stars. But I wanted the f/f romance which is not what this is. Also I don't want to read a romance between a brother and his sister's best friend. Especially when I found the brother to be annoying at best.

First off, that cover is GORGEOUS. I just finished this and..... I loved this book SO much. This was such a smart, sexy, sweet rom-com, Bellefleur has taken several fun tropes and make it its own.
I loved this book especially because of the characters. Brendon could literally propose to me tomorrow and I'd say yes. As soon as I finished the absolutely delightful contemporary f/f romance, WRITTEN IN THE STARS, I put in a request to read the follow up book- HANG THE MOON.

Still, Darcy insists that Annie should stay at her place and that her brother, Brendon, can give her his spare key and show her the apartment. 3.5 stars. I have to say I’m a bit disappointed because I absolutely loved Written in the Stars. Maybe my expectations were too high. I just had a hard time connecting with the characters. Brendon and Annie, especially Annie, were very two-dimensional. Brendon is too into finding love, Annie has given up on finding love, and that’s basically the entire story. The author spent way too much time repeating the same things instead of delving deeper into the characters. There was so much potential fo

This book has cemented Bellefleur as one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. This is a masterful follow-up to her first book, Written in the Stars, featuring all of the characters we know and love and Annie, Darcy's best friend. Highlights were: most of the book, including the way characters communicated, friendships that last lifetimes, nostalgic memories, consistency, and respect. Downsides were: that I finished it and it's over now.

Alright, all you Nora Ephron fans, this one is for you-- full of references to classic romcoms, chemistry, tropes upon tropes, and some ridiculously embarrassing moments. Both main characters work corporate jobs and live in big cities.
Annie decides to surprise her best friend Darcy in Seattle, but since Darcy is out of town, her younger brother Brendon shows Annie around. Brendon has had a crush on Annie since high school. That's really most of the plot! There's a little more external conflict ...more

Brendon is a hopeless romantic (he even created an app for love). Annie is convinced that romance is dead and goes to Seattle to tell her best friend that she's moving to London. She ends up running into her best friend's not-so-little brother. Soon after seeing each other for the first time in 8 years, sparks fly, and Brendon starts a rom-com inspired mission to show Annie that Seattle might be the place for her to call home.

This book is for everyone who adores romantic comedies and believes in happy endings. Brendon is a true romantic. Heck he even founded a matchmaking website (similar to eHarmony - but with a broader reach). He loves all things romance and wants everyone to find love and a happily ever after. He even successfully matched his sister with her girlfriend. He's been working hard at finding his own happily ever after but hasn't found anyone he feels fireworks with. The follow up to Written in the Stars did not disappoint. We had a glimpse of the potential chemistry between Brendan and Annie in the first book, and it was palpable from the first time they meet again in Hang the Moon. Loved Brendan was a sweet cinnamon roll, but Annie really stole my heart. I and loved the continued Bi rep into the second book, and could really relate to Annie's feelings of isolation, which was magnified by the ongoing pandemic. Love! I'm so glad Brendon got to stare in his own story, while we also got to catch up with Darcy and Elle. I really liked Annie in the first book, so it was a treat getting to know her better this time around. This is everything you'd basically expect and filled with so many sweet moments it was hard to stop smiling. I literally pumped my fist in the air and whisper screamed, "YES!" when the end pages revealed Margot would be the focus of a third book. These characters are hard to beat.

This had great bi representation! I liked their casual comments about it. Also, remember kids, a bi person in a straight looking relationship is still bi!

Hang the Moon is a romance but it didn’t feel overly mushy which I enjoyed. In the book, Annie tells Brendan that she believes romance is dead and Brendan, being the guy that loves love, wants to prove Annie wrong. I like that the female point of view was the skeptic, and the male view the romantic. A big thing that I enjoyed is that Brendan is pretty attractive, his character wasn’t a jock but he also wasn’t a geeky nerd that would never have a chance with the hot girl.
