Rereading the Amelia Peabody Series from before and into this week. I absolutely love the characters which Ms. Peterson writes and her partner in crime, the very talented reader, Barbara Rosenblat. It covers so much more than just Egyptology, and Peabody can throw the shade. If you enjoy great characters and smart women who speak their minds, even when those they are speaking to are incapable of comprehension, this is a series for you.Happy reading everyone.
I'm looking forward to The Automatic Detective. I can't believe it took me this long to marry my noir and pulp sci-fi sensibilities.
heerlijke policier in mooiste stad van Nederland.Binge-reading
Paul Dieudonné – Rechercheur De Klerck en de doodsteek
Paul Dieudonné – Rechercheur De Klerck en het duivelse spel
Paul Dieudonné – Rechercheur De Klerck en de ongrijpbare dood
There are a lot of books for this category I like:- The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris
- Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
- Stalker by Lars Kepler
- Almost all Stephen King books
I still have a few Nero Wolfe novels to read so I'll likely go with Rex Stout. Or maybe Dame Agatha, she's always worth the time. Nothing new about either but if you haven't been to these authors you are in for a real treat.
Emilia wrote: "Later (by Stephen King) and The Murder of Roger Ackroyd (by Agatha Christie)"I'll second "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd". Great story and the reveal floored me, but they usually do. The only mystery I've ever read that compared to it for sheer fun is "The Doorbell Rang", by Rex Stout. Both are excellent.
I'm pretty sure I saw Steven King in there. I think I'll stick to the more fantasy genre. I have a very, very good imagination, that's why I like to read. Unfortunately, it doesn't shut off when I sleep, so I don't do too creepy or scary. I'd have nightmares for the rest of my life. But to each their own. Happy reading everybody.
I did not enjoy Depraved Heart at all...but on to Dead Man's Quarry, and then probably Odor of Violets, as the week is ending.

Manipulators only care about themselves and what others think about them.
Whether online or offline, such manipulators are present in the world.
In this story, you will read of an online situation where Manipulator Stan Stoic, a banker. and Joanna Marsh, a part-time nurse started off as best friends.
Joanna was like his right hand, but Stan had a Jekyll and Hyde personality.

This book contains valuable advice for many in such situations, as well as poems for poetry readers.

The Jo Modeen Series, Great spy, military action thriller set down under in Australia and with a strong female protagonist. Josephine Dakota Modeen and her team of ex-SAS soldiers turned national security agents, save the world from all sorts of peril. There are nine books in the series with a tenth due out mid-year. Highly recommended for action adventure readers, they are best read in chronological order.
Latest book in the Jo Modeen series. A member of the British Royal Family is shot down in Afghanistan. The tall, young, red headed chopper pilot is taken hostage by the Taliban... Hmmm I wonder who the pilot could be? The British send in their best MI6 agent and crack SAS unit, the Americans send in their deadly NightStalkers and Australia sends Jo Modeen. A thrilling ride that takes Jo and her team to Afghanistan.

Tiger Mosquitoes: A Medical Crime Thriller
, by Kenneth J. Stein, is a very mind-capturing thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat! There's quite a bit of mystery in it too!

Who's murdering all the London apothecaries in 1665 and why ?
