There are some interesting books here. Moth sounds fascinating. I dont read much YA but this one intrigues me because it is written in verse. The cover is so bright and colourful. This one is definitely going on my to read pile

Well, there goes my book budget. Who am I kidding? What book budget. Happy to already have some of these on my list while adding others.

What an awesome list!!! I found myself literally doing the math as I was going through the list. How many can I afford to buy right now? Which ones will I have to wait and buy later? Time to get my shop on. ;)
Am adding quite a few to my "want it" shelf. Also adding to my "maybe thinking about it" shelf as well. Happy to be able to support African American writers. I don't think I read enough authors of color but want to change that in 2021!

Added quite a few more to my "book boner" list, lol. Plenty of romance, fantasy and sci-fi for me yay!
So many beautiful covers. And an interesting # of them set in the 20s and 30s- such a rough time but it makes for some truly interesting and insightful stories!
Pleased to see a delightful amount of queer literature on this list. My want to read list may have just doubled, and I'm okay with that; on the venn diagram of genres, the intersection of queer and poc lit is probably the most enjoyable,

Latanya (Crafty Scribbles) wrote: "Well, there goes my book budget. Who am I kidding? What book budget. Plus, you can make recommendations about books they should buy.
I am going to read Blood Grove by Walter Mosely, I have read most of his Easy Rawlins' early series, and I'm excited that there are new ones that I didn't know about. I started the series when Devil in a Blue Dress came out, in 1990. I thought the series had ended and I lost touch with what was going on regarding him. He's a skillful writer and story teller, and I love Easy!...I might start over again with the first of the series...

So many wonderful looking books. Would it be possible to see them by category so it would be easier to chose?
It is named "Black History Month". There should be some Black history books listed; for example: Stolen Legacy by Ivan Van Sertima, 12 Years A Slave by Soloman Northrup, or Caste by Isabel Wilkerson, books by Haki Mahdhubuti, poems by Gwendolyn Brooks, etc.; books that share information on Black History.
I'm just saying!!
I'm just saying!!
Did the same person design the covers for The Prophets and What's Mine and Yours? Super similar look.I'm excited for The Rib King and Blood Like Magic!
They had me at Nnedi Okorafore and Colson Whitehead. Can't wait to get so many of these into my library.
Angela Jackson-BrownThank you for including me on this list. It is a challenge for Black authors to get our work on the radar of readers. I consider it an honor to be included on a list with such amazing authors. Goodreads does good work to support all authors.
I am here for them alllllll might just have to order another bookshelf for all black authors!!!! I'm love it!
