Reading a few spooky books this month - hopefully! The Institution from Stephen King,
House of Salt and Sorrow from Erin A Craig

The Witch's Daughter from Paula Brackston
.....to start with...........
I'm not somebody into Horror as a genre but must recommend Kali Rawat's The Well & other storiesHere's the link if you guys are interested in a quick yet spooky read. https://www.amazon.in/Well-Other-Stor...
Keith wrote: "Please, this Halloween read Shirley Jacksons The Haunting of Hill House. It must be one of the best out there!"And watch the 1963 movie, The Haunting, based on Jackson's book! I remember watching it on TV in 1969 and being so scared I couldn't get out of my chair to turn it off and go to bed!

Finished Dr Sleep not so far ago. Enjoy. Can't wait to see how they put all of it in the movie. It is coming out this month.

Alexander wrote: "Hello, I would like to ask for recommendation. I like black metal music and I would like to read something homologous in literature, to have the same kind of emotions. What books would introduce me..."We Sold Our Souls
YakshiniThis is a pure engrossing read! Every woman and man must read it! It is a supernatural drama
I've just completed Carrie and Salem's Lot. Currently reading The Shining and The Brer Rabbit Collection. I think Brer Rabbit gives Stephen King a run for his money.
I'm finally going to get on the bandwagon (or in the clown car), and read IT by Stephen King. Sometimes I feel as if I'm the only one who hasn't read it.
I read Clive Barker's The Hellbound Heart - having watched Hellraiser many times, the book shows how closely the film was adapted to it - fantastic read though!I moved straight on to The Scarlet Gospels (which also features Pinhead) - I've currently just read the Prologue: this is great writing and grim, horrific reading! Barker at his best - totally repulsive and v shocking, yet told with wit and gravitas.
I read Mary Downing Hahn’s Wait Till Helen Comes to my seven year old. He loves spooky ghost stories.
Hilde wrote: "I have 2 ghost stories lined up, The House on Cold Hill by Peter James and The White Devil by Justin Evans.I saw the Peter James boo..."
The House on Cold Hill is great, there is a sequel out today actually , the secret of cold hill or something.
I'm about to start The Haunting of Hill House in audio during my commute to and from work this month. I'm looking forward to it! I've read it's one of the spookiest books out there. We shall see!
Nicole wrote: "I'm thinking about re-reading my favorite horror trilogy from my childhhood, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark"YES!!!! Awesome books! I came across a 4-pack in a used book store, but they were asking way too much. Thinking back now, I should've just bought it :-/
Hey guys! I am reading the second Throne of Glass book and looking for a recommendation for a good scary book for Halloween time! Not so much gory but spooky - I like YA and adult books so happy for either - maybe even a sort story anthology so I can do a different story each day? What are your favorite (non gory) horror books? Thank you!

I read "We Have Always Lived in the Castle" earlier this year and really enjoyed it!

2. An unwanted guest - Shari Lapena
3. The hiding place - C.J. Tudor
4. Insomnia - Stephen King
5. Revival - Stephen King
6. The outsider - Stephen King
7. Salem's lot - Stephen King (rereading)

Jackie wrote: "Hey guys! I am reading the second Throne of Glass book and looking for a recommendation for a good scary book for Halloween time! Not so much gory but spooky - I like YA and adult books so happy fo..."I'd recommend:
- "The Haunting of Hill House" by Shirley Jackson
- "The Things She's Seen" by Ambelin and Ezekiel Kwaymullina
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie.Well, it is Spooktober and Horror Week. So, I should read a classic thriller/horror novel. My first plan was The Hound of the Baskervilles but it was more practical to read "And Then There Were None". This book was appropriately scary! And a real page-turner. I seldom read a +150 page book in a few days. I also watched the miniseries alongside.
Genuine horror is too upsetting a genre for me , but to stay in the spirit of the things I'm re-reading THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW and RIP VANWINKLE , two legendary 19th century unsolved mysteries . And that's about as spooky as I can handle .
I highly suggest A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay and Suffer the Children by Craig DiLouie for Horrow Week!!!
I'm currently reading The Silent Companions and it's absolutely terrifying. Victorian gothic drama at it's best, with all the mystery, black magic/witchcraft, creeping feeling, lonely old house... I can only read short spurts at a time because I'm too afraid!
Michelle wrote: "I'm re-reading IT by Stephen King" I'm hosting an It read-a-long in October. I'd love to hear your thoughts about it.
Blind Sympathy this book is a perfect blend of horror, paranormal, and oddly enough, romance. Does the cover give you chills like it did me?
