I have it as well, I loved how the pages are printed as they appeared in "The Strand" when they were first published. I really enjoyed reading it
What a nice coincidence that I just started reading Mick Finlay's: The Murder Pit (Arrowood #2), for Mystery & Thriller Week.London Society takes their problems to Sherlock Holmes. Everyone else goes to Arrowood.
Another fabulous read, better than the movie (books usually are) and the movie was "great". One of my favorite reads.
How did you know?! Mystery and Thriller week and I just started reading A Study in Scarlet Women !! XD
My long time pen pal and Goodreads friend doesn't often read the same books I do. Are we even still friends? Aha! I see she just finished some Sherlock Holmes fanfic with a steampunk flavor. And, it's just in time for mystery week. We suddenly have something in common. This is why I joined Goodreads in the first place. The Clockwork Scarab
Mystery/Thriller seems to be my most read genre, but I have been quite disappointed in most that I have read recently, just not Thrilling enough. Also I can usually guess the twists a mile off. Maybe it is my own fault as I have read so many of them. Just started Stillhouse Lake but would love to try My Lovely Wife as have heard good things about it. Any recommendations for genuinely surprising Thrillers kindly appreciated
I'm currently reading The Last Oracle by James Rollins and I'm going through the entire Sigma Force series.
Previously read The Good Widow and Girls' Night Out both by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke. Both were excellent page turners.
Amarnath wrote: "The Leopard and The Son by Jo Nesbo"Nice! Nesbo's Harry Hole series is terrific. Enjoy :)
Every week is thriller week for me!Currently listening to:
An Anonymous Girl
Currently reading:
Jane Doe
Both are excellent so far!
Agnes, I'm not sure whether it would satisfy your mystery reading urges, but you may try "one among us" by Dhruva if you like. Do let me know what you thought. Appreciated!! :-)
I am reading FRIENDS LIKE THESE. Recently finished STILL MISSING, omgee that book was sooo good. Mystery and thriller is my favorite go-to genre.
Just finished Idaho Code by Joan Opyr, a humorous take on Idaho politics (& conservative politics in general) with a lesbian detective. A lot of fun, with an interesting mystery to solve as well! Now I’m reading The Maltese Falcon.

Nearly every week is Mystery Week for me too. I am currently reading The Big Four by Agatha Christie.
Yesterday, I began Thin Air by Robert B. Parker. I'm a big fan of his and needed something that might give me a few laughs, as well.
Just finished
by Jo Spain and started
by Sue Grafton. This is a real bittersweet read - the final book of the series as Sue died before she could write Z.
I just discovered Kate Ross series on Julian Kestrel. What a gem. I was sorry to see her life was cut so short.
i am in love with the mystry and thriller novelsagatha christie is my favourite auther
i am already finished the a b c murder and the mirror"s crack
The British Library released some charming editions of mysteries from the early part of the 20th century. They are somewhat predictable but nonetheless enjoyable. If you're looking for something a bit different these would be a great choice! Blood on the Tracks: Railway Mysteries
Mystery/thrillers aren't really a genre I read much but I have recently asked a friend for some "cozy" recommendations. I also am looking into the Falco mysteries from Lindsey Davis.
If you're looking for something a bit different these would be a great choice! Blood on the Tracks: Railway Mysteries "An enthusiastic second for Martin Edwards' edited collections of British Golden Age mystery short stories: Blood on the Tracks as MJ recommended, Serpents in Eden, Murder at the Manor: Country House Mysteries, Silent Nights: Christmas Mysteries, et cetera. They're terrific re-introductions of early 20th-century mystery writers like R. Austin Freeman, Freeman Wills Crofts, Anthony Berkeley, Margery Allingham et cetera.
Just have to say that I'm loving the graphics this time. Everyone looks so paranoid and shifty-eyed, even the cats!
Does it count if I read the biography of a forensic pathologist? Cause once I finish my current lil fantasy I'm going to round out the week with Unnatural Causes by Richard Shepherd.
Currently reading:
Fatality in FReleasing this week that I'll immediately start on:
Who Slays the Wickedand
An Artless Demise
The Girl Who Play With Fire by Stieg Larsson, The Analyst by John Katzenbach and Watch Hollow by Gregory Funard.
I was lucky enough to get an early copy of 'Stoker's Wilde' by Steven Hopstaken (Author), Melissa Prusi (Author)!! OMG!! I'm totally gobsmacked by this amazing supernatural thriller! It won't be released until May 9th, 2019. Put this one on your 2019 must-read list!! I just finished posting my review.. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
STOKER'S WILDE captures the imagination and leaves the reader in total awe!! This has to be one of the best vampire stories I've had the pure delight of reading. Supremely written!! This horror thriller will have the readers on the edge of their seats as the epic tale plays out!! A truly rousing tale that pairs Bram Stoker and Oscar Wilde as they battle the supernatural world of vampires. All of the characters from Bram's Gothic novel 'DRACULA' make an appearance in one form or another. Easily leading the reader to re-read, 'DRACULA' for clues that Bram Stoker may have actually just documented portions of his iconic novel. I loved, loved, LOVED this story!! I am already looking forward to re-reading the story again and again! This is a MUST BUY BOOK for any library to be truly complete!!
This week, I read the new thriller SIMPLY the BEST, from writer Delvin Chatterson. This is the second novel in the Dale Hunter series. The writing is crisp and the storyline believable. The businessman protagonist is in a dog-eat-dog competitive computer supply business. Pushed by partners that are in difficult situations, he walks a slippery line between total honesty, and shady money-making opportunities that inevitably get him, and his loved ones into more trouble. The novel reads like a true gangster crime story with unexpected twists, sub-plots, and a few red herrings that keep us guessing and on the edge of our seats. This was an enjoyable sequel to NO EASY MONEY.

My Lovely Wife
The Fire Witness
Perfect Crime
and many more....
