i'm assuming she might mean that the iparis siblings have latinx blood in them?
personally, i've always imagined metias and june as east asian.

I knew that, but that is no answer either. "Latino" is the same as "Hispanic" in that it refers to culture but not what you look like. However alot of people in industrialized countries forget or are unaware of that. That is why I asked.

There are plans for adapting the book for a movie:
Legend's film rights have been sold to CBS Films, with Twilight producers Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen to produce. On January 29th, 2013, MTV reported that Jonathan Levine, director of 50/50 dropped out of the film. Godfrey stated, "We have a fantastic script, and we had Jonathan Levine who directed 'Warm Bodies,' but because he had just done a YA book, he’s kinda like, 'I’ve got to do something different.' So we’re in the process of putting a director on 'Legend.' Whoever gets that is going to be excited because the world-building for that is a blast." They are currently looking for a new director. Newcomers Andrew Barrer and Gabe Ferrari have completed the script.
So, everything is still up in the air. I don't know which fancasting she refers to but if those of other franchises are anything to go by the old "but you chose Caucasians" can be pretty hypocritical (e.g. when complaining casting an english actor for a British/Chinese role but full blood Chinese or Japanese actors are ok...).

And as for Day. Well. I never really had a different view other than his description in the books.
So yeah. Opinion entered. =P

Just out of curiosity, what does "Hispanic, Asian and Italian" mean? Because you see, the most specific here is Italian and even then it can go from this:

to this:

And it can get even darker.
And Hispanic and Asian are incredibly broad, so what sort of features are you referring to?

Well I can look Asian to some people and to others i look more on the Italian side because my skin has olive undertones even though I am pretty light. I have light brown eyesthat can change color with the sun and that just really makes me think of June fire some reason.

So when you say "Asian" you mean East-Asian?
Because mostly that term can be used for this guy:

as well as this one:

And where do these two look alike?
Also in regards to olive undertones... well in that case you could be considered a central European as well:

Yeah in the end i am so mixed I have could look like anything!! LOL
And Philippino is easy i mean by Asian

And Philippino is easy i mean by Asian ..."
So its Philipino. I was curious because sometimes such assignments are beyond ridiculous and then it seems to me as if the one-drop rule is alive and well and as if people say stuff like "Asians look all different even white but white people all look the same" you know as if there are no white people with high cheekbones, olive skintones or epicanthic folds.
And of course there is the problem with using "Hispanic" as referring to physical features even though it refers to culture. And when used to refer to features it seems to me as if it mostly refers to Southern European and Mestizo stereotypes.

I understand you. There's are so many people that just don't fit into the studio typical version of their ethnicity and I love that because it just shows us how diverse the world is and that in the end we are all equal

I know, it just seems that quite often use this fact to basically reinforce their own notions of racial purity, like this one guy who complained to me when I said he was white because you could have dropped him anywhere in Europe and he would be able to blend in. Which really shouldn't have been a surprise since the majority of his ancestry was Western European with just a tiny bit of Japanese. But nope he was "mixed"... well by that logic so am I since I probably have some Hun or Mongol ancestry like alot of Europeans have due to good old conquest. After all, where do you draw the line.
Albeit to get back to this topic here, at least here the author did some actual effort to get it right in some other cases... well lets say it this way: No wonder people got stuff wrong when the author cannot even keep hair color and skin tone consistent.

Yeah hard to find someone with blond hair and Mongolian features

Really? ^^
