Is that an Irish master or a Scot master?

Is that an Irish master or a Scot master?"
Despite some scratching around by family historians, I don't think we know. We do know our branch came down to western Pennsylvania about the time of the Civil War from/through Ontario, Canada. My Grandfather McMaster's father worked as a stonemason. He had four sons in Washington, PA, of whom my gf was the youngest, and died rather young.
Somewhere, I hope in my older brother's hands, there is a family bible that records more information, but I have not seen it.

Ah, milady, but you are a grand McMaster.

:-). Well, when making those sorts of comparisons, the article writers try to pick things their audiences might be expected to recognize. A lot more people will recognize Tyrion than Miles; if it gets any of them to pick up the VK books, well and good.
As long as they don't get the order of the characters' respective creations mixed up -- Miles came first! -- I'm OK with it.
