American Airlines First Class Travel Disappointment Not Worth It

American Airlines First Class Travel Disappointment Not Worth It

I wrote American Airlines on July 17, 2015 the following complaint below regarding their first class travel to which their response on July 21, 2015 was: "Our basic product is transportation. ...We do not provide refunds when transportation is provided."

So remember travelers and consumers there are many better options when you want to travel first class. American Airlines has no pride or investment in customer service to ensure first class travelers enjoy their experience. American Airlines response to a first class traveler's complaint is simply to disregard it and tell them you paid to travel and we got you there. Tough luck on your loss and disappointment is how American Airlines will handle first class travelers disappointed in their "service."

Dear American Airlines,

On Friday, July 10, 2015 I flew from Laredo, Texas to Orlando, FL (through Dallas, TX).

I used 25,000 frequent flyer miles from my account 5AX8114 to fly first class, but was never told when booking the ticket that the Laredo to Dallas, TX portion of the trip had no first class.

Therefore the Laredo to Dallas trip had no movies or first class food, nor amenities (not making it worth 25,000 miles). Furthermore the flight from Dallas, TX to Orlando, FL had a broken movie screen in that the audio was not working (although the kindhearted and excellent steward attempted twice to reset it). Also there was no meal provided on the plane in first class, only snacks.

Having flown economy throughout the world in 72 nations I am used to receiving a meal on foreign planes in economy seating. American Airlines did not even provide me a meal in first class, instead only providing very light snacks, water and juice. The steward/server was kind and excellent with what he had, but American Airlines withheld both a first class seat (though paid for), a meal, and had a poor movie player (all which are quite standard and commonly received on a first class ticket / flights).

Please kindly refund my air miles used on this trip as it was a huge disappointment.

Respectfully,
