Thanks! It is not a bad idea to read right before book 2, because book 2 takes place immediately after book 1, the chapter numbers are even contiguous. As I've mentioned elsewhere, the actual "Book" is called Demons of Astlan and it is split into volumes. So while convention says "Book 1, Book 2, etc" 'Volume' is better since there is only 1 'book' and it is going to be several thousand pages long!
:)
Volume 2 Finally! ;)I read V1 back shortly after it was released and was waiting for the next one ever since ;) With V2 on the horizon, it's time to ReRead the first one again. As to the Beta schedule, i don't mind waiting a bit longer if the book gets better for it! Keep up the good work Sir, much appreciated.
Doing a short Beta 3 release this weekend. It's a much smaller set of changes. (But ones that setup something very wicked for the start of Book 3)
It's at the editors now; it got to the editor the first of August, but she was moving at the end of August so wanted 8 weeks. She was about 2/3 done (before I sent her an extended version) at the start of September. Last time she came in 1.5 weeks early. Hoping she can do the same and I can get it back in the next week or so. Given the processing time after that, I would be able to do an end of September/October 1st launch. But if I don't get it until end of September, then it's a mid October launch. That should be the latest. I need about 2 weeks after I get it back, due to needing to approve edits/do suggested revisions and then get it through the Amazon and CreateSpace "process" which takes a few days.
Looking forward to Volume 2, I've read quite a few novels since I last picked up Volume 1, but my mind keeps wandering back to check on your updates. Great read, captivating storyline. Keep'um coming Sir.

Yeah, it's rare that i keep checking on a book that's not from like Brandon Sanderson or something. Looking forward to it!

Good work Mr Langland, I've been waiting for a while, but it will be even better because of the wait.
I read the first book again a few months ago, but might pick it up again in september to really have it fresh in my mind. The fact that it is a really good book helps quite a bit for that :)
Thanks for your hard work.
