Hello friends and readers and passers by,
As promised long ago, would share with you the ups and downs of being a self-published author, so, it is with some trepidation as to how this will go down, but I received my quarterly royalties this week that showed after months of publicity, talking to people, advertising my re-launch of 'Echoes' I sold ................. (drum roll).......
One book.
Yes, that's right. One. I now have a cheque for just over $2 which if I changed it to £ would be a few pence.
So, I speak to authors who have loads of reviews for their books. I hear about authors who complain that their sales have gone down to 35 per day!!! And I sit here with a book that has won awards, had a producer rave over it and yet nobody wants to read it - why? What am I doing wrong?
Am I too needy? Too desperate? Believe me when I say I am not. I am a nice woman who just wants to write books for people to enjoy, but how do I do that?
So, there it is readers - the reality of self-publishing and being taken on by a publisher who is at present indisposed through no fault of her own.
Is the universe telling me to give up? Stop hoping? Would love to hear your thoughts ...
