Petition to Get Terrorscape Unbanned from Amazon

One of my readers made a petition on change.org to get Terrorscape unbanned from Amazon.

Please sign it and spread the word if you can! It would be so awesome to be able to sell Terrorscape on Amazon again. ♥

Thank you so much!

Amanda Alexandre I never read any of your books, but I signed the petition.

It's incredible how we can still see things like this censorship in XXI century, in a society like ours. Shame on Amazon. Have we learned nothing?

Thank you so much, Amanda. I feel the same way.

Tessa Did that and shared the link on facebook.

Hope the ban will be removed :) . If Fifty Shades of crappy sex and abuses is not banned then why should your books be?

Oh, thank you so much, Tessa! I really appreciate it.

I hope so too. I was surprised my book was banned when so many other books were allowed to stay up, like the dinosaur porn. o.o Hopefully this petition will let me sell my book there again!

Amanda Alexandre Tessa, I can't answer your comment, but I totally agree with you!

I can't believe it. ;~;

message 13: by Hallie (new)

Hallie whats so bad about it that it needs to be banned??

message 14: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell I'm not sure. They never told me and most people who have read the book seemed surprised, as they didn't think it was explicit enough to warrant a ban.

Here is their content guidelines policy:

message 18: by Hallie (new)

Hallie amazon sells mein kamp yet bans this book....

message 19: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell It's very strange, and their policy is so vague. This line ("What we deem offensive is probably about what you would expect") had me shaking my head.

message 20: by Hallie (new)

Mmmmm raptor porn.... how can you ban that? There's nothing more hot than a cold, giant reptile. XD

I hope so too! Even if it doesn't, though, you can still buy the book from Smashwords.

I was really sad when I got banned because until that point I had been very happy with Amazon's customer service. :(

And like someone else commented, Amazon sells the dino porn books and A Sentimental Novel with all of its disgusting child torture porn. But draws the line at Terrorscape? Give me a break.

Apparently there's insect porn now.

99-cents for eleven pages. o_o

Don't forget the insect porn!!!!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J...

Or don't you want to 'entice the ant'? ;)

But yeah, I don't get it either. Are they saying my book is worse than A Sentimental Novel? Because that book had (view spoiler). D':

Being an indie author is hard sometimes.

But my readers make it worth it. Seriously, I didn't even think of starting a petition, but one of my readers did, and oh my God, I want to cry at all these signatures pouring in. I don't know what I would do without my readers. They make all the bad stuff worth it. ♥

message 30: by Sam (new)

Sam RIGHT? Every review I've seen of that book has literally made my stomach turn over. And I'm not squeamish. You couldn't pay me to touch that book with a ten foot pole. And obviously I haven't made it to Terrorscape just yet, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's not worse than ASN in Gavin's wildest dreams.

message 31: by Sam (new)

I'm curious, when they banned your book, did you not try to contest it? Showing them all the raptor/insect porn should have been enough, right? O.O

I imagine it must be worse for mothers. I have no children of my own (yet) but I was filled with rage at the cruelty to CHILDREN (and BABIES!) in that book. Raping children is never okay. Never. NEVER. It's especially rage-inducing because of stuff like this.

It's also annoying that ASN is being shelved as BDSM because it really isn't anything like BDSM. There is nothing safe, sane, or consensual about what goes on in that book. >_>

I couldn't figure out how, and when it happened I was working graveyard shifts every other night and didn't have the time or energy to look into it. :/

I also have pretty low self-esteem so there was a part of me that was like, "Well maybe you deserved it" or "even if you put in all that effort, they still won't unban your book". Sometimes I need a push to get me moving, you know?

message 36: by Sam (new)

Sam That is disgusting.

Yeah, I hated crap like that before I was mother too, obviously--I mean, that's sort of just part of being human. If you're cool with baby-rape, you don't qualify. But as a mother, things like that make me want to use a nail gun to staple even fictional balls to the wall even more.

Ugh, I know. I'm SO tired of people using BDSM as a blanket shelf for all sexual violence. That is not what BDSM is. Spend like 5 minutes on wikipedia and you'll know better. I'm not even sensitive to non-con at all, but it annoys me when those go on BDSM shelves, too. Hello, you can't have BDSM without CONSENT.

message 37: by Nenia (last edited May 26, 2014 12:42AM) (new)

Nenia Campbell I can only imagine. Btw, you almost caused me to inhale my soda because of your "things like that make me want to use a nail gun to staple even fictional balls to the wall even more" quote. That was hilarious. xD

One of my books has edge play, which is a subset of BDSM that's kind of toeing the line. It involves stuff like needle play, blood play, cutting, scarring, piercing, and other stuff that is kind of on the fringe. (I'm surprised this book didn't get banned by Amazon actually. If they were going to ban one...) It's quite dark and pushes consent lines, but I labeled it with the appropriate disclaimers and took care to point out that it is a SUBSET of BDSM that is not Safe, Sane, or Consensual (necessarily).

ETA: If people are going to write about taboo sexual practices, they should do the research to label them appropriately, as you said. I learned more from hopping from various edge play websites from Wiki then I'd ever known about BDSM and edge play before in my life!

Lol, pedophilia makes me all kinds of violent.

I know, haha, I aspire to read that one eventually, but I'm not sure that one's going to be my cup of tea--needles and cutting make me a bit cautious. lol.

Sarah (is clearing her shelves) I clicked the link before I started reading all the comments, it was at 29. By the time I'd finished reading the comments, I refreshed the petition page and it had risen to 31 signatures. I think that petition will be full within the next few hours.

I haven't read the book yet, but I don't see why this book should be banned when books that make me want to vomit are still sold on amazon!

It's pretty brutal. If you don't want to read Tantalized, I fully understand. A lot of my really devoted fans didn't like it, and several friends of mine put it on their no-thanks list because of the squick and triggers. I respect that, because I have limits as well and reading is about choice. Most readers are capable of making that choice for themselves without a book being banned. lol :)

I just checked, and now it's at 32! :o

This is really amazing to me because I was always the unpopular girl in school. Nobody nominated me for squat. So it's really shocking and awe-inspiring that someone not only created a petition for my books, but that so many people are voting on it so quickly! Especially--as Sam pointed out--at a time when most people are sleeping.

I started out today feeling kind of blah but this turned my whole day around. :')

If my book gets added to Amazon again I may have to write a really long thank you post and host another giveaway to celebrate. Because this is just pure, bottled amazing. <3
