Falling Deeper

Something I’ve often thought about, would you give a playlist with a book. As you know I use music for inspiration above any other method. I’ve wanted to find a way to include the songs that inspired me to write with my books. Or even a suggested listening list in the back of the book! Is that even possible? I always use music, even when I’m reading something that isn’t mine I have to have something in the background making noise and 90% of the time it’s my phone blaring the songs that make me feel with the book. I really want input on this so please feel free to jump in. I know I’m weird but I can’t seem to get the idea out of my head. I want to put a recommended listening while reading list in the back of the book. I want the reader to feel what I did writing the book.

As you guessed by now today I’m going to bore you all to death with my music obsession. For my first book, The Watcher, I’ll tell you all what song inspired the chapter! Yeah I know it’s dumb, but maybe if you do decide to read my books it will help you understand the book on a deeper level then the average reader.

In The Beginning- The start of the coven was inspired by Breakdown by Breaking Benjamin. Yeah great way to kick off a book! They rock my world and I’ve been a fan for a long time!

Before It Gets Better- Overcoming the pain of loss and stress of life. Alive- Krewella.

Aware- Moving forward and learning to cope. – Best of You- Foo Fighters.

Welcoming Spring- Finding the right way to stop the demon that’s out to kill you?- Fine Again- Seether

Round One- Fighting for your life! Yeah you need a theme song for that. This chapter’s song- I Miss the Misery- Halestorm

Back From the Dead- When everyone believes they just watced you die.- Back From the Dead- Skylar Grey

Counting Down- Forcefully doing something and tracking every minute until you get to go home. -If I Didn’t Have You- Thompson Square

Catching Up- Finally making it home. – I Need Your Love- Calvin Harris

Revenge for Zoe- Bringing a friend back to life when they’ve hit their lowest. -Where Is My Mind- Placebo

Graceful Return- Coming out of the darkness and into the light.- Glory and Gore- Lorde

Sammy’s Little Secret- Caught in the middle between your best friend and your love. You have to help your friend figure out what’s really going on, even if it mean your love is upset.-Ignorance- Paramore

Desiree Wilder I'm with you in that music inspires me in my writing. I'd die without music. I think it would be awesome to put a playlist in the back of your book! Music is meant to be shared, right? Your fans will appreciate the chance to get to know you better! :)
