yet another list

Netizens seem to be endlessly amused by lists. This one is interesting, if a touch surreal from my POV:

Clearly, if I ever need a male pseudonym, I should pick "Robert". Though deciding on "Bujold" instead of "McMaster" was probably a good choice, as it falls higher in any alphabetically arranged list. Which is why my phiz is first here, I believe, among my same-number-cohort.

Karl Smithe I scored 29. I presume it doesn't count if you start a book but never finish. I have started 3 of C. J. Cherryh's works but never finished. I am not even sure what it is about them as to why they do not hold my interest.

Comparing your works to Heinlein's is interesting. Partly it is as though computers for word processing has changed writing since the 50s. Back then science fiction novels were mostly 150 to 200 pages. Dune was very unusual. It is like Heinlein's books have more ideas per page than yours, but your characters are more detailed but that takes much more writing.

This makes it seem as though your stories are less thought provoking for the amount of reading to be done and the thought provoking parts are more in the dialogue rather than the action of the story.

Like the first conversation between Cordelia and Vaagan in Barrayar and the conversation at breakfast when they learn about the assault on Bothari and Kou. LOL

You just need one more nomination to be in a class by yourself. Get crackin' on that next book. LOL

Steve Only 32 for me. Mostly missing some newer authors I haven't read yet. As a librarian, I've got some catching up to do!

Maia I only got 16! So much room for improvement...

Peter got 27 - yes - get another book out there Lois so you get a 4th nomination!!!

Not that I'm urging you to write another book or anything....
How's the radiation scene going?

Radiation scene...?

If you mean my stalled novella from a couple of years back, it's still stalled, alas. Or abandoned, at least for now.
