message 1: by Tedders (new)

Tedders I'm baffled by Sherlock Holmes not topping the list. I mean I get Robin Hood I guess, but Sherlock Holmes!

My very first memory of Holmes was when I was about five and I was watching Disney's "The Great Mouse Detective" and as far as I knew I had never really had any prior introduction to Sherlock, but I KNEW who it was supposed to be.

Holmes is that big.

And how the heck is King Arthur so low on the list?

Sharon I think Sherlock Holmes was on the master list, Chrissy, but I agree that he should have been higher placed.

message 3: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca My favourite Sherlock Holmes was played by Jeremy Brett. I watched it every week without fail and now have the DVD collection. I also enjoy the newer version with Robert Downey Jr. It's fun and good entertainment.

It is odd about King Arthur, especially as the TV show Merlin was such a hit.

Then James Bond? I can't stand him! Give me Jason Bourne!
