The Next Big Thing!

Hey everyone, and welcome to my Next Big Thing blog post! I must be the last author on the face of the planet to get tagged for this (other than the author I’m tagging!) so I’m sure you all know the drill. On to the questions!

1. What is the working title of your book?

The Arrangement.

2. Where did the idea come from for the book?

Actually, this is a re-edited, revised edition of my first book, which was originally published in 2008. I remember reading a lot of erotic romances before I started my own, but none of them seemed terribly realistic to me. I know that for some readers, the main attraction of romance lies in its escapism factor. But for me...well, I couldn’t see myself writing a book with characters and scenarios I didn’t believe in. So I ended up writing about a ménage that does just about everything wrong, until they figure out how to do it right.

3. What is the genre of the book?

Contemporary m/m/f ménage.

4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie
rendition?

I’ve had Tom Welling firmly in mind for Nick ever since I wrote the first draft.

For Allison, I’d be over the moon to get Carey Mulligan.

As for Eric...that’s a tough one. I used to be partial to Gale Harold...

But now I’m leaning more toward Alexander Skarsgard.

What do you all think?

5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

How do you hold together an unconventional relationship when the world seems determined keep you apart?

6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency/publisher?

Self-published, with a tentative release date of March 1st.

7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Oh, gosh – that was a while ago. Six months or more, probably. It’s taking a while to revise/re-edit it now, so suffice it to say I’ve put a lot of work into this one.

8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

Hm. All I can say is, if you like wall to wall sex, this isn’t the book for you. At around 65K, it’s the longest solo novel I’ve written and it’s definitely driven more by plot and character than sex.

9. Who or what inspired you to write this book?

It’s the old axiom – if you can’t find the kind of book you want to read, write it yourself. So I did. ☺

10. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

The Arrangement is actually the fourth in a five-book series following Eric, Nick and Allison over the course of twenty years. The first three – By Chance, Strictly Business and Complications – are prequels (and already available at Amazon, Nook, ARe and Kobo). Triad, the final book, will be out sometime this summer.

Here’s another awesome author I think you should check out:
