My New Rule When Reading Books by Problematic Authors

Full disclosure: I have books in my personal library from authors who weren't exposed to be problematic until after I got the books. I have a few J.K. Rowling books and Robert Galbraith books that were Christmas and birthday presents prior to 2019, when J.K. Rowling decided being transphobic as more important than being a decent fucking human being. I have a new policy regarding books like that. I'll still read them. I'll still give them star ratings. But I won't write detailed reviews for them nor will I post reading updates beyond a page number or percentage completed. That means you won't hear about them on my blog, Deviant Art page, Amazon account, or anywhere else you can find me. A star rating is all you'll get. I think that's a fair deal.
