Garrison Kelly has been writing creatively since January 2002 and made it official with an English degree in 2009 from Western Washington University. He is mentally disabled with schizophrenia and autism. Mental illnesses are a favorite topic of his to discuss when writing, as are liberal politics, violent situations, anti-bullying politics, heavy metal music, and the occasional shy guy love story. I have taken something from my screwed up psyche and made something beautiful out of it. I liken this to the scene in the musical Pink Floyd the Wall where the main character smashes his hotel room in a fit of rage and afterwards makes a piece of art out of the remains. It’s a creepy way to think of my accomplishments, but then again, lots of creepy things go on in my mind.(less)

Sometimes when I’m alone (or at least when I’m sure I’m alone), I’ll do a back and forth dialogue between characters out loud. If it wasn’t for this method, the characters in my current novel Fireball Nightmare would all be two-dimensional wash-ups. It’s supposed to be a fast-paced bloodbath, but stories and emotions are just as important as the high-octane violence, if not more so.(less)

Garrison Kelly is on page 99 of 200 of In the Presence of Knowing: It would have been satisfying to see Vince get the shit kicked out of him, but for now I'll have to take Rogan and Layla's word for it that he was "taken care of". Come to think of it...maybe the evil witch Cordelia had something to do with Vince's violent comeuppance. Hmm...
