Launch event winners

"I'm very polite by nature, even the voices in my head let each other finish their sentences." Graham Parke, Unspent Time

A big thank you to all the bloggers and readers who supported the Unspent Time launch event (especially those who bought multiple versions of the weird little novels that wrecked a thousand reasonably useful minds.)

I'd originally planned to have a monkey draw two random numbers out of a hat (then use the inverse hexadecimal value - because you cannot trust monkeys, not at the prices I'm willing to pay) but apparently there are laws against monkey labor. There are permits involved. It's a whole thing. So instead I asked a friend to think of two random numbers while dressed in a monkey suit, without telling him what the numbers were for. This seemed sufficiently random to me, although it later occurred to me how worrying it was that my friend would actually do this without ever asking why. There might be a thinly veiled cry for help in there somewhere...

Kindle Fire Winner:

Cecilia Huddleston

Kindle Touch Winner:

Kathy Habel

Anyway, here's the results, thank you all for joining in, winners will be contacted and forced to accept prizes, stay healthy and at least somewhat sane,

Graham Parke

“We played for about half an hour before I realized we were actually playing two different games. What I’d thought of as ludo was actually a game called gin rummy, and what Warren was playing seemed to be a mixture of craps and table tennis. Once we started playing by one consistent set of rules, though, the fun was really over.” Graham Parke, No Hope for Gomez!

Steven A pox on all friends who provide random numbers while dressed in monkey suits! Oh well. Congrats to the winners.

Graham Parke The scary thing is, he hasn't stopped giving me numbers since. I don't know how to stop him and I can nolonger verify whether the numbers are still random or if it's turning into some kind of code.

Really wish I cared enought to find out..

Cecilia I'm thrilled to be chosen by your monkey dressed random number generator cheap labor friend that could possibly have some sort of mental issue...but it all sounds pretty normal to me! So...Mr. Bonzo...thank you so very, very much for randomly chosing my number!!!

I'm having an incredible amount of fun with my newly won Kindle Fire...and who would have 'thunk' I'd like reading a book on plastic...it's the bomb! I'm shocked, amazed, amused, entertained for hours on end...until it needs recharged or I discover it's 3:00am and I have to be up for work in 3 hrs.

I thank you again many times over, Graham, for the contest and, Steven, I'll take that "Congrats to the winners" in the spirit in which it was offered...:> Also, congratulations to the other lucky winner, Kathy Habel. Bet you're enjoying your Kindle Touch!

Thanks again, Graham, and I look forward to reading all your upcoming books on my Fire now...except for the one I purchased in paper, "No Hope For Gomez".

Cheers to all!!!

Well, how could I possibly win when competing against someone who has a song named for her! :-) Congrats again, and I'm glad you're enjoying the Kindle! And congrats to Kathy too!

Graham Parke Getting more and more convinced I need to use a real monkey for the next contest. It just seems right. It'll take some doing to get all the permits, but it'll be worth it. Maybe I could even set up a small business, monkey-number-generators for hire. And why stop at numbers, perhaps I can get one of 'em to pick out some better matching clothes for me in the morning...

Cecilia Graham...I'm thinking you are on to something here with your small business, monkey-number-generators for hire scheme! You may even eventually not only get one to pick out better matching clothes for you but maybe one day write your books, too...! Early retirement for Mr. Parke!

Steven...how I've come to hate that song...you've no idea how traumatized my life has been because of Simon & Garfunkel! The ongoing lawsuit has been tied up in the court system for years now...not to mention all the psyciatric bills someone is going to pay for... S&G insist it was that "other" "Cecilia"...yeah, right!...the saga continues....

By the way...thank for the congrats, Steven!...:>
