DAILY SCRIPTURE – 1 CORINTHIANS 12:27, ROMANS12:21

I’m beginning the new year with something a little bit different—I will be sharing Scripture confessions, taken from Charles Capps’ booklet, God’s Creative Power. The simple truth is, God created all we see by SPEAKING it into existence. He didn’t run to Hobby Lobby to gather bits and pieces to put together. He didn’t ponder or hesitate. He spoke.

He SPOKE. And it was done. And it was good. His words. It was good.

So too, there is power in the words we speak, whether words of faith or words of fear, words of trust or words of doubt. Words of praise or words of complaining. Our words have power.

I first read through this little booklet in 1989, and it changed my life; slowly at first, and like tasting a strange new food, I began speaking the Word, the confessions, over my life. Day by day and step by step, the Word took root in my heart, and my faith grew.

I pray as I share these with you that you, too, begin to speak them over your life, and that your life will be transformed as mine has been.
