A glut of soulless characters.

The Westing Game The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

DNF 20%

I first read The Westing Game in fifth grade at the age of ten. Nostalgia brought me back to the book, but, sadly, nostalgia wasn't enough to warrant continuing the book.

The plot is a unique and interesting concept, but the relatively short book suffers from a glut of characters, each seemingly with a connection to the murder mystery. The result is a minimally-developed, confusing cast of names who each hold important clues yet fail to build a lasting impression in the reader's mind.
