Focus is Key

Life has been dizzying of late and I don’t think it is going to get any better. It is the speed at which many of us live and it just doesn’t slow. I remember when my oldest was younger and we spent many hours talking about his ability to focus. We tried lists, repetition, alarms, talked to doctors, etc. Today we are still working on this but my son has somewhat improved on his own.

When we got our family dog, it again became all about focus. Training him to listen and sit when told, come when called, or not to jump on visitors.

These days, with so much going on in the world, I’m finding it harder and harder Tryto focus on my day to day work. At times work seems trivial even if I know it isn’t. It is easy to lose track and feel purposeless, but that’s not the case. It is a matter of being mindful and purposeful with our attention.

How do we do this? Spend some time exercising, enjoy the fresh air as the weather starts to warm, carve out time for yourselves and spend it doing something else besides playing on your phone. Try to live a slower and more intentional life. It isn’t always easy, but it is worth it.

Happy writing this week!
