"When a corpse is found floating face-down in Vilnoc harbor that is not quite as dead as it seems, Temple sorcerer Penric and his chaos demon Desdemona are drawn into the uncanny investigation. Pen’s keen questions will take him across the city of Vilnoc, and into far more profound mysteries, as his search for truths interlaces with tragedy."

Serendi Fabulous!

message 3: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I am trying to buy the book at B&N but when I do it shows no price for the book and won't add it to my cart. There seems to be a glitch of some sort.

I don't think it's quite fully finished loading yet; the cover and the look-inside aren't there yet either. I probably jumped the gun on posting the link. (I'll try to remember to watch out for that next time.) Check again a bit later on.

message 8: by Jill (new)

Jill Carroll Well, that brightened my evening! Hope we get to see more of Symo and Laxo at some point; they made me smile.

message 9: by Brzk (new)

Brzk It feels so festive when we receive a new Penric story, once when spring is full, and once in autumn, just at the start of all sorts of celebrations. Thank you very much, dear Lois.

message 10: by Ay (new)

Ay EEEEE!

message 11: by Talli (new)

Talli Ruksas Great book. Spoiler & errata post coming?

Lois Bujold Talli wrote: "Great book. Spoiler & errata post coming?"

Yeah, I should set that up next, given all the speedy readers here.

Don't everyone let your mania for errata overrun actual story discussion...

message 13: by Steve (new)

Steve What a nice Saturday morning surprise! Thank you, ma'am!

message 14: by Mitali (new)

Mitali Wow, that was quick! A few days ago, it didn't even have a name!

I'm now lagging 4 books behind in the Penric saga. Not that that's a bad thing - it's a rare delight when an author's productivity outstrips her devoted fans' reading speed! :D

message 15: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Now on my Nook 😃. Thanks Lois!

message 16: by Björn (new)

Björn Friðgeir 'nk 'oo!
Great as usual

message 17: by Peter Lawson (new)

Peter Lawson Bought, read twice, big smile on face.
Looking in my bookcase, wondering when the next volume of Penric stories will be available in hardback ….

message 18: by Todd (new)

Todd Bumbarger An early Christmas gift! I can't get enough. Any idea when Mr. Grover Gardner will be able to read it to me as I fall asleep?

It's licensed to Blackstone, but I don't know how long production will take. Last one took about 4 months, which I thought was really fast. I'll of course post on my blog when I have a release date.

Not sure this one is a good bedtime story, it gets pretty dark in spots. But Pen & Des do win through as best they can.

Petri Peltonen Is The Knot going to be released also as a Subterranean Press hardcover? If so, any idea when?

Margaret Petri wrote: "Is The Knot going to be released also as a Subterranean Press hardcover? If so, any idea when?"

They're taking pre-orders for it at this very moment.

End of January 2023. You can check the SubPress website for details. (Uncle Hugo's and Dreamhaven here in Minneapolis will also be carrying copies, in due course.)
