My Theory of Everything.

The theory of everything is an imposing title with which to explore existence. The first thing to come to my mind when confronted with this choice of words, is are things intended or do they just occur the way they are? The answer is that they can be both.

The interesting point is, the order of being. Take the formation of stars, planets and life. In reverse order, life has come about by there being a hospitable planet and evolution. That has come about by a series of unintended circumstance. Does that mean a certain species of life has a dominance and is immune to the natural laws of survival? Of course not.

The building blocks of life are based on meteors and are scattered throughout the universe. They crash into countless objects without any intension. It could be, life did not need those particular building blocks but was able to evolve from material already on Earth.

Once life has formed, everything might appear as if it needs intension to exist. The reality is for millions of years things have been happening without intension, such as continent drift and before that land mass has sunk into the depth and towards the core of the earth with new land mass appearing on the surface. There have been periods of extended freezing and at the present time, global warming.

It is tempting to make a copy of everything in order to explain its existence. The problem with this is assuming what you see, is the end of what can be in the future. It is important to also consider that you are an agent and have a goal, which automatically rules out unintended actions.

How we choose to live our life does not have to depend on how we believe existence came about. The world is a mixture of intended and unintended actions. However especially at this time, it is important for our success of survival into the future to respect nature and do our best to protect the environment in its many forms.
