Kosigan Amazon UK too.

Talli Ruksas Any idea why this one is so expensive for a novella? No discount for owning the e version either which is unusual. I guess I'll try the Audible free trial.

Jerri Sometimes titles aren't made "wispersync for voice" with the Kindle version for a few days after they are released. This is what gives the discount for Audible/Amazon. The rest of the Penric/Desdemona series was eventually, so I hope that Physicians is soon. I try to wait and see, since not only is there a discount, but also it makes it easier to switch back and forth.

Jerri Physicians of Vilnoc is now "Wispersync for Voice", if one owns the Kindle version you can now purchase the Audible version for a discounted price (at least in the US). It is also easier to switch between reading the Kindle version and listening without loosing your place. With the right device you can also practice "immersion reading", where you listen and read at the same time, with a sort of highlighting showing which words are being read. This can be helpful for some people to overcome reading disabilities, learn a different language or as theropy after strokes, help with dementia, etc.

Margaret Physicians of Vilnoc is one of your best! I can still read a little on Kindle large print but love the audio versions, and the reader!

Kathie Congratulations! Hurray for you and Grover Gardner! Also noting the beautiful covers on the Penric series.

Jerri A note for US subscribers to Audible. They seem to have just introduced a new feature for many subscribers called the "plus catalog", that allows people to stream or apparently download certain audiobooks without spending credits for them. A bit like Audible Escape, only subscribers of certain plans get this benefit without paying extra. 20 of LMB's titles are available. I plan to use it to listen to Grover Gardner's reading of The Spirit Ring, which I didn't want to buy since I had already purchased the previous version, and wasn't sure if I needed two different readings. I assume that Audible will compensate the owners of the rights in some way, probably a bit less than a full sale of the audiobook, but something. With luck those who first get into the Bujold works this way will deside they want more and go on to purchase other titles. I see a scattering of books from the various universes, a couple of Pen and Des stories, the first two Sharing Knife books and Knife Children, and several Vorkosigian novels/novellas as well.

William P. I’m super excited! Questions, though: Will this be available through Downpour as well? And/or at what point will we start seeing it through library sources like Libby?

message 9: by Jerri (new)

Jerri The Audible Plus catalog is available exclusively through Audible. Other audio book retailers have and will continue to have their own special deals from time to time.

You'd have to ask Blackstone about that.

Jerri The Audible Plus items are not NEW audiobooks. The catalog is just a marketing tool, a sort of repackaging of existing material. Some of LMB's audiobooks have been available through library sources for some time. I know that Hoopla has quite a few.

I’ll do just that, then!

Charles Rainbow As much as I like ebooks, is this going to be available, like the others via Sub press in the (near) future?

Yes, SubPress will be releasing it next year, with fabulous cover art. (I'm not sure how "near" you consider that.) I don't have the exact pub date yet. I'll post when it all emerges.

Ta, L.
