Difficult to resist… Heart and Soul #8sunday #snippetsunday

Setup for this snippet: WIP from Heart and Soul. This is a snippet from my new 'rock star romance' that I'm working on. It's in the very early stages.

This week:
Rowan is curious to why Maverick opened Heart and Soul as a coffeehouse and not a bar. The coversation is picking up from last week.
Maverick's POV. Rowan is speaking first.

"Usually, the coffeehouses I've frequented were college hangouts where they met to work on school projects. Never thought of a coffeehouse establishment as a place to host live music. It's an interesting combo, but wouldn't you bring in more money if you served alcohol?"
"Maybe, but it's not just about the money for me, and don't underestimate a good cup of coffee." He lifted his cup with a grin before he placed it down and leaned his elbows on the counter. "I wanted a place where music could be appreciated with keen senses. The specialty coffees and teas were just an added bonus," he added as his gaze took in her every feature. She had a beautiful straight nose with just a tiny tilt at the tip, and her blue eyes were framed with dark lashes and her lips… well, those lips were going to get him into trouble if he didn't watch his step. Rosy full lips meant for kissing were always difficult to resist.
