Rock stars wall of fame… Heart and Soul #8sunday #snippetsunday

Setup for this snippet: WIP from Heart and Soul. This is a snippet from my new 'rock star romance' that I'm working on. It's in the very early stages.

This week:
Rowan strode over to one of the walls to admire the photos.
Maverick's POV.

"I really like these; gives the place character," she told him. "I recognize quite a few of the bands too." She leaned in close to admire one photo in particular.
"The bands are what this place is all about. Before I made it the Heart and Soul, it was a dance hall and bar back in the early 60s called Blue Suede Shoes. It closed in the late 80s and stood empty for years before it opened its doors again in 1997. This time, a restaurant that served heart-attack dishes, the greaser the better, but it closed due to poor management. To say the least, I was thrilled when I found a lot of those old photos you see on the wall stacked on the top shelf in the storage area."
"I'm surprised you opened Heart and Soul as a coffeehouse to showcase the bands and not a bar," she said as she admired yet another photo.
"I assure you, we aren't breaking any rules," he teased and winked with a smile when she turned to meet his gaze.
Her lips curved.
