A Different Kind of Responsibility
Hi, friends. Today, I want to talk about a different kind of responsibility: social responsibility.
Now, this may mean different things to different people. For me, it means helping people who are in need -- without any expectation of payback, or perhaps even of meeting the person whom you helped.
I started a new project earlier this year. Each month, on my Facebook fan page, I post a Charity ChipIn Challenge. I ask the friends on my page to donate $1, or to at least share that month's challenge with their friends. We have helped two groups meet their goal so far, and are working on another.
The Charity ChipIn Challenge for October is to raise $500 in order to get a water truck into the Horn of Africa. People there are dying because of drought and hunger. I have teamed up with The Tiniest Tiger on this project. As of right now, after The Tiniest Tiger campaigning for a month, there is $95 in the pot.
If everyone who reads this gave up their Starbucks coffee for one day and donated that money, we would exceed the goal -- and help families living in such dire circumstances as you cannot possibly imagine.
If you would like to donate, please click on this link. Mercy Corps is a legitimate organization and does a great deal of good around the world.
Thank you for having a look.
