Shameless Self Publicity
Hello readers,
Today I was at a taekwondo training session and my kind instructor offered to put a link to my Amazon page on his website, for which I was most grateful as he has a massive school with over a 1000 students. Well you can't say better than that. Someone did call me a shameless slattern as a result but you know what? I have no morals and I need the publicity!
Joking aside, this is what I have been thinking about this week, how to get your story out there so people know and are inclined to buy it. I seems to me that this is a process that is going to take time, of course I'm on the social media sites promoting away but then again, so are a lot of people so what can you do about it? I think is it about building relationships with people, not just sending them a link but getting to know them, sharing stories and making new friends. Then you get to meet some great people and the magic word of mouth starts to work.
Also, being a bit organised and putting word out before you launch, this is what I'm doing now which I hope generates more hits than just putting it on Amazon and hoping for the best.
So if you are lurking around the web on Wednesday 28th September and just happen to be on Amazon, check out my new story THE LISTENING POST - see, shameless!
And while you're at it, check out the video for Elizabeth Marshall and her novel
it is really good. I want to know how to make one like that.
Also, vote for Julia Hughes in the YA Debuts 2011 for her novel
as it is worth both a read and a click.
Have a good weekend folks,
L K Jay
