What to Expect in 2017 (or Later?) Part 2
In my most recent blog post I gave you the merest hint of what is coming up.
Without even saying that much about it, I'd like to now add the stock phrase: "BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE" and then expound on that slightly.
So here's what's up with just a bit more information:
1) A short story collection is still happening. I have a title in mind for it (still to be announced). I need to finalize what and how many stories it will contain, and the process of polishing older ideas still needs to happen. Even before that's even fully complete the editing process may officially get underway. It's fairly close with a bit more patience. However, another project has monopolized my time lately.
2) That project is what I believed was going to be my next short story. However, it's grown, and not too big for its britches as the saying goes, but rather I didn't get how big those britches were supposed to be. In this story (title still being withheld) I had amassed enough information, characters, backstory, vibrancy, and research put into it that it's going to have to become a novel to be done properly. Even with trimming the fat later, I still see it growing quite a bit larger. It may not be massive but I will easily surpass the lowest word count threshold for a novel in my mind, which is Carrie.
3) Lastly, other publications of works that are complete can and may still happen. All signs point to yes, as the Magic 8-Ball would say.
Those are just a few of many things on tap for 2017 and beyond. Now you have a few more details to savor, and I have a few more works keeping me busy. Some of which I've not even mentioned here.
