Every author has a different method. For me, writing a first draft is about letting go of that internal editor and just letting the story flow, not worrying if I’ve left out a comma or echoed a word three times in a paragraph. All that does come out in editing. And editing. And editing. That’s the price for doing the fast first draft–lots of editing :)
