About future Horngate books

A couple of years ago, I contracted with Samhain to publish two more Horngate Witches books. Then my son got sick and I had to put many things aside in order to take care of him. Those books were two of the things I had to set aside. Just recently, as I was figuring out my schedule for this next year, I learned that Samhain is closing its doors. They have reverted the rights on those unwritten books, so I am free to do what I want with them.

What that means is that I may do some shorter novels or novellas in order to get them out to you in between my contracts book. I’m working on leveling up on my writing so that I can write better and faster. I’m trying some new techniques, which so far are working.

I can’t say with any level of certainty when I’ll get something Horngate out, but I am determined to do so, and will be working on it.

I’m curious though. What would you like me to explore in future Horngate books?

Douglas Meeks Obviously I would love to see more, we really did not get good closure on the series.

Can you tell me what you were hoping for as far as closure? I've got ideas about that, but I don't have a reader perspective and it would be terribly useful.

Douglas Meeks Something that did not give Max a seemingly lifetime of pain and violence. It looked like she was getting some happiness and we love her as she is (and God knows I don't want another heroine with guilt issues) but as a series ending, we want better for her :) Hope that helps a bit.

Dr susan I agree, but if you want more specific hints, I will need to reread the last book.

But you should both know that she'll never have a truly peaceful life or at all easy. She's built for battle. But on the other hand, she's figuring out how to have a family and friends, which is huge for her. And to have fun.

Dr susan Oh, I agree in Max's world the best one can hope for is happiness between the crises :)

We could probably live with that LOL Do we get everybody back that is not dead? It has been 4 years and I seem to remember some kind of ghost dogs ? ...

Dr susan Okay, I borrowed Blood Winter from the library and reread it and skimmed Shadow City. Spike and the Grims are missing, Scooter promised to return, Ilanion wants to visit Horngate, the Fury is wandering around, there's a winter to get through, and the people in Missoula to help, as well as the other survivors to meet. And the Guardians released magic, nightmares and wonders into the world. The Memory, the Harbinger, the Seeker, the Illusion, and the Spirit are flitting around. We don't know why the Grims chose the Horngate people. We know the Guardians will want Horngate to fail, and we saw no promise of Horngate's success. Also, Max and Alexander aren't the only ones who deserve to find happiness in the middle of a magical apocalypse; Giselle deserves someone, Spike needs a mate, and there is a definite need to repopulate the earth.
Is this what you wanted to know?
