OK, first: that very first paragraph was FANTASTIC!Secondly: you ruined the bonus points with the EDIBLE KITTENS! Greebo does not approve (at least not if those were female kittens and thus potential future mates)!

Thirdly: YOU WORKED IN THE BOOTS!!!

And I think Heloise's idea involves luring that Orc in about the sexy-times he wants, only to ridicule him publicly. Would serve him right! Or she'll try and everything will go horribly wrong, ending with Doom and Total Disaster (yes, with capital letters). ;P
Thanks, Amber!Hahahahaha Trish! Sorry, Greebo...not my fault. I go where the story tells me to.
Rest assured that Heloise has plans...big plans... :)

Good! And, considering how Heloise (rightfully) spoke of annoying phallus symbols, she might be in the right mood for a bit of a rough lesson to teach that Orc! *rubs hands together with glee*

Haha! I was thinking the same thing and Heloise almost made a comment to that effect, but she decided to just let it go. She's cool like that. ;)

She is pretty 'cool beans' ;)
Y'know, I already left one comment on here and it seems to have completely vanished. Goodreads being glitchy again, I suppose.Anyway, thanks to Sean for another exciting and hilarious instalment! It irks me that I can't put this on my 'currently-reading' list...

Thanks, Paul!
Once we're through this arc of the story (which I anticipate being 10-12 installments in total, so we're halfway through), I'm going to put everything together and release it as a novella via Amazon, so it'll have a GR page at that point. Huzzah!

Hooray!!! Shut up and take my money! xD

I wish more people would say that to me. ;)"
As far as I can tell, there are at least a handfull of people here saying that exact thing!
Hazah!I will join in the:
"Shut up and take my money" crowd!
Oooh will there be a few illustrations?
I loved your other picture book posts :D

YES. Karly is working on a cover image, but I would love--LOVE--to include some other illustrations, if anyone (ahem...PAUL) is willing to do them. I think that would be awesome, and in keeping with the very communal nature of this story!
Perhaps there needs to be a brief H&G comic at the end of the novella to further entice people with new content...hmmm. *Looks in Paul's direction again*
Can't wait to read with what hairbrained scheme Heloise comes up with. And dare I say that Grimple is even worse at haggling than I am!
Paul wrote: "How 'bout we see how my drawing of Grimple turns out and take it from there? :-D"Sounds like a plan, mon frere.
Cathy (cathepsut) wrote: "Can't wait to read with what hairbrained scheme Heloise comes up with. And dare I say that Grimple is even worse at haggling than I am!"Hahaha! I'd like to see Cathy and Grimple negotiate--the first deal where BOTH parties walk away worse off. ;)

FANART! Sean, did you read this! Ha!
And I wanna see!!!

Haha! I may need you to write the next installment. ;)
Then the heist will totally fail and they all need to practice a prison break next... through the sewers... during a thunder storm... battling ginormous rats... ;-)
Cathy (cathepsut) wrote: "Then the heist will totally fail and they all need to practice a prison break next... through the sewers... during a thunder storm... battling ginormous rats... ;-)"That sounds like a pretty compelling next adventure, Cathy! ;)
Ah, the shifty shopkeep. Some things are tropes for a good reason. :)
Another fun installment. And count me in for a big "Yes" on the novella (esp. if it comes with pretty pictures, too!)
Pictures good!

Gotta love reliable old fantasy tropes...hoary ones, even. ;)
Edible kittens?
Edible kittens?!
I- I just- *sound of hyperventilating* I just can't... *thud*The boots made up for it. Barely. ;D Oh, and this shouldn't even be questioned, but count me in as part of the "Shut up and take my money" crowd when The Chronicle of Heloise and Grimple is all said and done as a novella. :)

Come on...who DOESN'T want to snack on a cute little kitten now and again?
And I'm glad the boots could make an appearance for all those who have been clamoring for them. There. You're welcome. :)
Sharyl wrote: "Great installment--the red boots were a marvelous touch :)"Thanks, Sharyl! I'm a man of my word. ;)
Yay! The appearance of the boots! I wasn't exactly expecting them to be on the person who was wearing them, but that's okay. At least he was also wearing the green skirt. I mean, you never break an ensemble up when it's working so well!
You are a man of your word! Considering the inspiration for the inclusion of the boots, my surprise was fleeting.
If all goes well, I hope to have it up by the middle of the week, Amber, though may be closer to the end of the week.
