March 3rd, Thursday -- The rain gods are teasing us with sprinkles, or maybe it's their prelude, that'd be better. I'm looking for a new Gabbeh rug for my "inner" office -- I love the Gabbeh rugs, they're nice and thick and they stay looking incredible. Made by nomadic tribes in Iran for forever -- very simple, sometimes primitive designs. I'm told they're really thick because when a wife got mad at the husband, he would go sleep on the rug.
The rug has to be at the very least 9X12, preferably much larger. There are already two big Gabbehs in my office -- one mostly red and one yellow -- We have a local Persian carpet store that's always going out of business, and yes, sort of slimy -- I'll give them a try. see if they even have any Gabbehs. Online at Gabbeh.com -(I think they're in Arizona) I found two very large gorgeous rugs -- do you guys have any suggestions?
